most opiates tend to make me motivated, warm, happy and talkative (like fairnymph i am cold most of the time - poor circulation perhaps due to lowered endorphins).

I think i get different effects to most ppl i know prolly cuz i have ADD. The only times i get what others have described is when i do lots in one go, and i mean lots.

Oh, and please dont anyone suggest i dont know what i'm talking about as i WAS on prescribed pharm heroin for 10yrs with a damn big habit. As for the IV rush i dont think its comparable to an orgasm, its very fucking nice, but not the same. A physeptone IV rush is way more intense for me personaly and lasts longer, still not like an orgasm though - more like a fairground ride.

Trainspotting was written by Irvin Welsh who apparantly on an interview claimed he used to be a H addict. Perhaps he didnt have a good sex life.

The orgasm theory may not be that far off in some respects as both raise dopamine and other neurotransmitters. But i gladly have had better orgasms than IV's.

I think Irvin Welsh was referring to the relief you get. There are physical signs of withdrawal from both sex and heroin. If you haven't had heroin in a few days and are addicted severely or you haven't had sex or jerked off in 2 weeks: I bet the finale would be comparable. atlas, what do you have against Trainspotting? Its more of a comedy than a drama. I think drug users like comedies no matter what. And if you want to get all technical about it, I think Trainspotting portrayed heroin addiction more accurately than Requiem For a Dream. However, Spun tops all! Flame on!

As if any sick junkie would be the least comforted by the thought of a jerk-off...Rather we males get unvoluntarily orgasms when we are sick and have not ejaculated in along time. I would say it's probably similar to any other strong opiate/opioid such as fentanyl, morphine, and methadone.
