I should have also added a pivotal teacjer in my life, Rav Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook, or as he is usually ccalled in English: Abraham Isaac Kook.

He is a physical relative of the Lubavitch Movement founder (CHABAD Movement) but has little in common theologically.

HaRav (The Exalted Teacher in Aramaic) founded the Merkaz HaRav (The Rav Centre) schools sytem whose flagship school of the same name sits in Jerusalem. It is the school where an Arab employee walked in and murdered 8 young boys last year.

I am an alumnus of that school system.

The theology teaches that even secular Athesitic Zionists are positive under G-D because they act, wittingly or otherwise, within G-D's plan to gather in the Jews of Exile, and reestablish the Jewish Nation upon its scared homeland.

It involves a whole lot more but can be described as uber-Zionist and the theology that drives the so called "Settler Ideology."

I am no longer Observant but that theology made me into who I am. It brought me into Kahansism, into the army, and then shaped my early adulthood leading me to the present so it has surely "influenced" me in umpteenth ways.
