TaupinJohn, you are a fool. You cite one example of a terrible employee who happened to be black. What exactly does that prove? Ever heard of small sample size?
As for the guy ripped you off for $60; again, I ask, have you never been ripped off by a white person? I certainly have. People in general can be greedy and shady. That guy obviously is carrying a chip on his shoulder and has it in for white people. but so what? He's one guy. I am sure there are others like him, just as there are WHITE people who have it in for BLACK people.
Also, maybe you SHOULD check the history books, since you have declared that racism is over in this country. Really? Blacks were oppressed in this country for hundreds of years, and even recently, 100 years after the civil war, blacks were officially oppressed by the laws and denied equal rights.
But now you are going to claim that everything is fine and that racism and oppression has completely disappeared? That's absurd. When were whites ever oppressed in this country by black people? They weren't. But black people have been and still are. Numerous studies have shown that bLack people get a raw deal by the criminal justice system.
Regarding your experience in the military; if I were a black person I would probably stay close to the other black officers also; who could blame them?
