White House lashes Canada's pot laws

Exactly. Legalize every drug except in its pure or natural form (drinkable or edible) and let it be. I don't even want straight-up marijuana legal...I want Cannabis tincture, laudnaum, heroin pills, etc... Michael Moore distorts facts, I know all about him. Eric and Dylan also used ILLEGAL guns to kill kids at Columbine. Gun control works, eh? Bowling for Columbine was about our culture's obsession and glamorization of firearms, which leads to crime. AKA: dumbasses see guns on TV and think shooting people is cool and it isn't. OFF THE TOPIC OF GUNS AND ONTO MARIJUANA!

Alright, Guns, Politics , WWI, getting way off course here. Let's stay on topic which was ....

White House lashes Canada's pot laws

;)

K, as far as marijuana goes. This is what i always thought, it should be legal. But the gov' must have a good reason not to want it to be right?, or is it actually just beacuse they are entrenched in thier old ways?, or something else?, I'm asking a serious question.

I"ve always kinda thought the U.S's key motivation is $$, is it related to that somehow.?

Old ways, failure to admit they are wrong, a threat to big buisness (hemp can be used in many ways oil is), pharmaceutical companies, money wasted over the past 68 years, on and on and on....

Well damn that just sucks., maybe when all oil is burned and trees are cut down they'll legalize it? ( i heard somewhere hemp can make paper )

The US Constitution was written on hemp paper. All the sails, clothing, lamp oil, rope, etc on 18th and 19th century ships was hemp. Hemp growing was required in the US in the late 18th century, actually.

Then what the hell, why aren't more people aware of this?, that this is such a good resource, thats even renewable, and can be regrown every fuckin season.
P.S, i thought that hemp wasn't even illegal anyways. just the female plants were?

mmm hemp biodiesel...

Anyway the last time Canada was going to decriminalize pot (last fall I believe?) The U.S. responded with "If you do that there will be problems." or something basic like that, and our Gov't chickened out..

Here it is again, coming up on round 2, so we can expect pressure from the states again. Like I said earlier I just hope martin has the balls to stand up to them this round.

The reason marijuana is outlawed is because William Randolph Hearst used yellow journalism about marijuana ("crazed niggers" raping white women, etc...) to get it banned because he owned a shitload of forest whose trees were used to print his paper. Fearing hemp (which can be cultivated 4x a year) would put his forestry business in the hole, he made weed illegal basically. So yes, Marijuana/hemp is the most perfect of all plants out there. Even beating the poppy, you heroin fiends :).

I'm sorry, I'm all for legalization and regulation of at least marijuana, maybe all drugs. Let's start with marijuana and see how it works. But I'm all for an outright gun ban in the US. At least renew the fucking weapons ban that just expired. But how does that make me a hippocrite? They are totall different issues- completely not related. You can be for one and not for the other.

The US does a fine job on it's own making itself look bad. It's been doing a fabulous job of it for the past 4 years.

And yeah, I hear what you're saying Crazee about how the worlds most poweful empires collapse because of their own arrogance and it's something I'm genuinely concerned about. I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but we are inching closer and closer to that day.

I think Canada has their shit together alot more than the US. But so does most of Europe too.

Shut up. Regardless of what you think, banning guns only increases crime.

ROTFLMFAO=D

BECAUSE lEGAL GUNS NEVER EVER END UP IN CRIMINAL HANDS DO THEY?

people never get robbed or sell guns on, so the only guns available to criminals come from where?

What percentage of crime is related to the criminality of the substance?

How many people are incarcerated for possession globally and would the world be a better place if they were all released? I think it would be so the argument is why despite massive evidence that legalising cannabis would save £$ is it still so strongly resisted particuarily by the US, could it be those old tried and tested sterotypes are still stronger there than elsewhere (you know the ones, Black druggy rapists that started with cannabis and are now applied to crack users) or is it bacause those in power don't really give a shit, Bush was never in a million years going to be prosecuted for his cocaine habit, drug/drunk driving or any other substance related crime, nor is anyone really connected with keeping the legislation the way it is.

Drugs are the largest industry on the planet and the big pharm compaines heve things pretty well sewn up thanks, lets not start allowing people to grow their own recreation/medicine or we will all be worse off (sic)

Still so long as the media is under the thumb theres no real risk of rebelion and we can keep on locking up the scum while partying hearty.
