Someone I am very close to is scared to death because she just found out she is pregnant today (possibly a couple weeks) and she did 5 cartridges and a couple beans on Friday. She had no idea at all and she is freaking out for the baby's health. I did my research on nitrous and it seems that being overexposed to nitrous is what poses an issue- I cant find anything on a one time thing. I was wondering if there is anyone here that can share some knowledge with me that may help me calm her down some. Thanks in advance.

This is speculation - but I would imagine the problem would come either from hypoxia (reduced oxygen flow to the foetus) or depleted vitamin B. I would imagine it is unlikely to have done any permanent damage but we can never absolutely promise this so I would advise your friend to mention it to the midwife/GP (they may not know either but they'd be alert to the possibility of complications at least) and definitely not consume nitrous or pills or anything else potentially harmful while she is pregnant..

As for the vit B depletion, this is a risk of long term or high exposure nitrous inhalation, so 5 whippets is not going to be a significant problem. Many pregnant ladies take multivitamins anyway along with folate but this is something she should discuss with her GP.

Thank you for the responses.

Well her boss prescribed her diflucan wrong... She took 10x's the dose she was supposed to so now everything is jacked up. She is going to the dr today.
