Whippet crackers

Break down and buy one. They are only about 12 bucks for a metal one from online headshops. There are plenty of places that sell them, Google is your friend. Don't buy the plastic one's, they are pieces of shit and will break after about 100 bulbs.
To be honest, I've found that it's a waste of money doing whippets. The bulbs are pretty expensive even if you order them online and the high wears off so quick, it's just not worth it. In addition, it's impossible to do just a couple bulbs and stop. You keep doing them until you run out of bulbs! They don't call it hippie crack for nothing.
The other thing that annoys me about bulbs is disposal. You end up with bulbs all over the place, then you forget which ones are the used ones, which ones are new etc.
Don't get me wrong, nitrous gives you a great high, but you need a tank to get a full blown nitrous experience. My advice is to save the whippets for when you're on some other drug, such as ecstasy, shrooms, or even marijuana, the synergy is great!
Oh yeah, nitrous is a dissociative so this belongs in the Psychedelic forum.

You can easily tell a cracked bulb from an unused bulb. Just look at the top, if there is a hole in it, it has been cracked. And yes buy the metal cracker or else you will end up with a broken plastic cracker. They only cost $11 for the metal cracker.
 
any idiot can tell a cracked bulb, the problem is when you get the uncracked ones mixed with the cracked ones and you have to look through them to find the good ones, its a real pain in the ass. I agree with dan, whippits by themselves just aren't worth the money, for the price of a box of whippits i can buy a decent sack, and that will keep me high a lot longer than a min or two, tanks are cool, but there a hassle to get, plus they can be dangerous...
 
Whippits are probably the most cost-INeffective 'drug' out there.. you pay about $1 for a couple minutes of pleasure... but still, it's just one of those things ya gotta blow yer cash onnow and then...
You CAN make your own cracker but it's a pain in the ass (PVC pipe and a nail) .. go buy a cracker or a whip cream canister ... the latter is nicer..
 
my little sister got the whole whipped cream kit for a b-day so she has this gigantic airtight metal bottle. you can crack like 4 or 5 bulbs into it and go gradual or all at once. it's great.

If you try to crack a nitrous bulb in one of these then inhale directly from the rig, you will burn the shit out of yer mouth... so fill a balloon with it then go to town... generally these are not worth it, hence the reason I didn't mention it - for an extra $2 you can buy something made for the purpose!
