While high do you find you can seemingly access a larger vocabulary?

Not sure if it's just me, but it's like cannabis opens up all the possible pathways for expression. Not talking about words one hasn't learnt already, obviously... just that in normal circumstances the mind seems slower at recalling the exact meaning.

perception, it alters perception. you look at words and meaning to things in a different light and from new angles if that any sense.

i often find that i mix words or sentences up in different patterns, almost dyslexic like...irony and sarcasm flow easily when stoned

when you smoke do you reckon it speeds up your thoughts or slowes them down???

They have done studies on this.
I believe THC makes certain parts of the brain more active, while making other parts slower.
Vocabulary was one of the things that improves with many people while high.

Doesnt up my vocab, but honestly words are not my best form of expression. Im a visual artist, and getting high has always expanded my ability to see compositions, to recognize atmosphiric colors when im paintings. When im high i can look at the world and think about all its beautiful visual qualities.

Mind expansion. Its awesome.

When I take magic mushrooms, I tend to push the limits of my understanding of what language actually is and how much I truly understand as opposed to just labelling things with symbols and sounds and saying that's that. They propel me to push deeper and deeper, becoming aware of linguistic dissatisfactions with whatever's on my mind.

Weed has expanded my mind to see more possibilities, and it can be very stimulating in this sense. If I am lost weed can help me find my way. Common sense is concomitant with the weed high. Chemical signals being transmitted to me and guiding my way of life from this plant in harmony with nature tend to lead to down to Earth realizations that can indeed be understood easily when they are known, but the essence is lost or overlooked when an attempt to communicate through language is made (deep zen contemplation of proverbs), hence the use of chemical catalysts in nature by the universal mind for swift advances in information and structural neural changes leading to tendencies for less self-oriented behaviour more constructive overall to the Earth, for which a prerequisite would be an expanded reformulation of who the self is.

Short answer to initial question, no.
I find I use much more grammatically incorrect descriptive metaphors like i'm some sort of pinko neo bob dylany dolphin, who allegedly have a larger vocabulary than we humans do.

Even then i don't seem to access more words than i actually have in my overall vocabulary and I start rambling and quoting myself and then people start wandering off..

I actually notice that my vocabulary seems more easy and fluent when I have been taking a break for a few days. I have always loved words, so it's hard to tell.

Met this dude reckons he learnt how to read write and speak French in one long weekend back in the mid 70s with the aid of clear light LSD...who knows?

Lol, no. I used to have an amazing vocabulary when I was in like 9th grade, but after like 5 years of getting stoned, it dissipated. Then again, I did just use the word dissipated while stoned... so... who knows! :\

Well the stoner chat room i chat on sometimes none of them guys can spell for shit so i doubt it lol

All depends on the individual, not the drug.

For me it's not so much that I have a bigger vocabulary, just that I find I use bigger words and not even realize I'm doing it. I often use words without thinking about it then notice I just used a bigger word and have a sudden sense of satisfaction.

actually yes. it seems to happen to intellectual types... i become increasingly eloquent the more i smoke. i also have the craziest lines of thought about every conceivable topic in uniquely creative ways. usually they happen so fast i can barely keep track of them, and every time that happens i always find myself thinking 'that sounded amazing, but im super baked... itd probably sound retarded if i were sober' lol.

baked mind = strange thoughts.

it extends your reach, into your memory associations. aka, it enhances creativity.

this comes at a cost, though. eg, it can be harder to "narrow the focus"*, and short term memory is the biggest cost. (i think that if we could get stoned without impairing short term memory, we would be able to use that to dramatically increase our intelligence)

* this is where meditation can come in handy..

Without a doubt, that's why cannabis can be considered connoisseurial alongside wine, well fermented spirits and cigars. These pieces of history all have a story to tell with the right coinnesseur on hand. The additional specialty of knowing how it made its way in to your hands and the craftsmanship and individual qaulities behind it all makes the occasion that much more magical. This will spark conversational topics that in turn will boost your exposure to an extended and somewhat creative/descriptive vocabulary.
