Which NAME BRAND Xanax should I get?

I suggested to my doc that he try writing me a script for a brand name Xanax, rather than just the generic 2mg Mylan ones I've been getting....

CVS (I assume most of you know this massive chain) has been my pharmacy for a long time, and it's nice having all my info and medcare all in the computers, so all I do is roll in, grab what I came for and pay a small co-pay that my parents even reimburse me for.


So I go in today after seeing him and they only have generic ones. The only brand name 2mg they said they could order was Pfizer? Are these legit??

Otherwise, I could try going to other pharmacies like Wallgreens etc... but it would just be a bitch cause I have to get all my med info, probably end up standing there for half an hour, fill out paperwork etc..... aka a lot more inconvenient.

I am not in this to get high - I just want the best, highest quality Xanax product I can get. The Mylan's kinda suck to be honest.

By definition there is ONLY 1 brand name xanax, its called xanax.

Alprazolam (sp?) if what is in xanax, but the generics are solf as that name. Phizer owns the trademark name to Xanax, so if you ever get a brand name xanax, its made by phizer.

Most of the time when people talk about xanax, they are refering to the active ingrediant, and not the try

Also, if you Dr does not write "do not substitutue" if you ask the pharmacy they will give you generic or brand name, doesn't have to be written on the script, the difference is cost/insurance

brand name benzos......what are all of the best ones for all the benzos? im curious I know them blue roche 10s were niceee, and compare nothing to mylans. I also know purepac lorazepam ok I sound like a sales rep lol, are the best ativan.....What else besides xanax....? and those I listed

In theory it should not matter, although the FDA does alwo a +-15% difference in bioavailablity between bradn name/generic.

The best clonazepam I would say are EON

although i suport the theory that 2 mgs is 2 mgs, and 1 mg is 1 mg no matter what generic it is, i have found that the best generic is sandoz. i only buy bars for recreational purposes but out of all the ones that i have taken sandoz always gets me good with taking a less amount to get my desired effects.

I was prescribed Xanax for years, always got generics, many different kinds of generics over the years and I never noticed any difference, except that 2mgs felt stronger than 1mg, obviously.

I was of the mind that there is no difference between brand name and generic drugs, it is only with the Benzos where this theory applies. I have never had a bad opiate pill or a ineffective batch of heart medication. There is a reason and it is because benzos have an ability to create insane tolerance and very subjective results depending on your use of benzos. I still refuse the mylan alprazolam. But, like I said the mind is a powerful thing!

Exactly, if on your prescription it is written "Xanax" you are entitled to ask for xanax, if they do not have it, they can order it for the next day normally... all the others are generic... i got "Mylan" and "Biogran" generics in the past, i prefered the Biogran...
However if on your prescription it is witten "Alprazolam" the pharmacy does no have to give you brand name Xanax and can give you any generic they please (at least thats how it works where i live)...
But as has been discussed many imes, generics are no different to brand Name, i would attribue it to eiher, taste, texture or placebo

However, I'd like to add that Qualitest makes a great quality 1mg alprazolam

Ratiopharm is a good brand if you're buying abroad.

If you are in Canada, Apotex is awesome. PMS Pharm (Pharmascience). Mylan (GenPharm) isn't too bad either. Ratiopharm is also awesome.

And yes, Pfizer & Upjohn own Xanax. So, the brand name of Xanax in the U.S. would be made by Pfizer.
