which is worse for you: long term tobacco smoking or long term benzo usage?

benzos w/d suck but i don't think many people are dead from benzos alone....

but people die in situations when their judgement is severly impaired by benzo HIGH

tobacco has killed more people than all other drugs put togetheer (legal or otherwise)....

There's no way to prove that. It also seems very unlikely. Tobacco smoking is a relatively new phenomenon compared to the use of alcohol.

+ 1. Alcohol use is so ancient, who knows how many cases of cirrhosis and liver failure there were when alcohol use first began?

Ham, you talked about the PET scans of long term benzo users; what kind of damage do these scans correlate to in real life? You said they were like (but not as bad as) the PET scans of cocaine users, I guess you're talking about the ones where a lot of the brain is 'lit up' in a normal PET scan, and a lot is darkened in a coke users PET scan.

smoking a pack of "malboro" ciggs might be relatively new but tobacco has been smoked for ages... just not "twenty a day" people have smoked tobbaco in pipes before.... the same way alchohol has been around a long time but people did't go binge drinking n stuff like that...

in the last century, tobacco has killed more than all other drugs (alcohol included)....

^ Yeah but that still sorta backs up what Ham is saying. We don't have numbers of how many people died from tobacco and alcohol use or whatever back in those days.

Didn't the first tobacco users chew it? That's not as bad for sure as smoking.

but what about the long term addicts that die of seizures when they go cold turkey ...?

I smoke daily and use benzodiazepines on a daily basis, with all the research done on tobacco it seems an addiction I should lose in order to live longer etc.

The benzos have a different kind of addiction, you become a slave to the drug and need to use it every day in order not to get withdrawal symptoms or that panic attack. I would choose Diazepam over Tobacco though. :D

Tobacco seems worse than Benzodiazepines overall

Maybe a poll. Would be nice to have

Peace o/
