Benzos which is the best benzo

I have permanent constant anxiety and it keeps me up for days. i don't get to see my doctor for another two weeks. I'm considering buying some xanax just go get on a better sleep shedule, but i really don't like xanax that much!! it tends to bloat my stomach (i have gi issues) and the withrawals annoying and it just doesn't sedate me. i like ativan more, is that weird? also i'm broke.

i do NOT have a high tolerance so just something that will get me through the next couple weeks. what would be the best benzo too look for? i've heard of xanax, ativan, klonopin, and valium. my doctor had me on buspar but that's a joke. which one is the cheapest and which one will knock me out for the longest? i have EXTREME anxiety.

any and all information on benzos is appreciated!

I have tried many benzos for my anxiety. Problem is i seem to have an addictive personality set towards most of them. Valium does have the longest half life. Xanax probably will "knock you out" harder. Chlorodiazapoxide.(substitute for Diazepam) works good for my anxiety and does not seem as substance dependent. Though it is not nearly the strongest benzo.

Yeah, busbar is a joke. They make me light headed and sick feeling. Klonpin seem like more of a common prescribed benzo here in the states(around here anyway) Then xanax

In general if you have no tolerance i don't see why any of the benzo's listed would not work. Lot of people prefer ativan but everyone's different.

Librium/Riisolid/chlorodiazepoxide is easily the most useless i have i have ever encountered. Chlorodiazepoxide has longer half life than diazepam.

I like Dormicum/midazolam (IV),Valium, Xanax and phenazepam.

Do you know the source of your extreme anxiety?

Benzos don't fare well for "extreme anxiety" only because no matter how many you take, you can still be somewhat anxious.

If you are using them just to take the edge off, just enough to make the "extreme" anxiety just bearable enough so you can go about your day, then this is much wiser than trying to erase all your problems with benzos.

As for which one is "the best" that is a highly individualized opinion.

My favorites are....

temazepam
midazolam
loprazolam (you can forget about this one and midazolam if you are in the US)
triazolam
flurazepam

I strongly suggest temazepam.

I hope you get some resolution to your anxiety - I can understand that extreme anxiety is really nasty and horrible.
