Now that's some down shit. I totally feel that vibe.^ True -- the desire to alter consciousness is clearly a basic property of human psychology. Anyone who watches movies, listens to music, plays video games, reads a fantasy novel, has sex, or even takes a walk in the park, is attempting to enjoy some sort of altered state of consciousness. It's just that some people can't accept the fact that sometimes a worthy altered state can come from a chemical.
Everyone has their own addiction. To be addictive is to be human.
Other people are stuck on so much stuff who is to say what is really bad.
This is what we chose to do for our explorations as much as someone chooses their thing.
Some of the things we do even help steer us from addictions and change ourselves.
There's people who are addicted to sex and money and power and all kinds of crap.
I don't think that crap self corrects like hallucinogen addiction does.
Hallucinogens will kick your ass off of themselves.
