I was just watching an episode of My So-called Life when I thought, "God, I wish I knew someone like Rayanne when I was in school". There's characters that you wish you could be, and there's characters that you relate to, but who would you like to meet or be friends with?.
'Rayanne Graff' My So-Called Life:
During this short lived, cult classic, I was no doubt one of many young girls that related to Angela's character. But it was Rayanne that always interested me the most. On the surface she seemed unpredictable, wild, and carefree. When in reality, she was as messed up as anyone else at that age. There was a sense of mystery about her during the entire series. But as it approached the end, you began to see that she was no different from anyone else. Still, top notch character.
'Mrs Anna Madrigal' Tales Of The City
After watching this amazing series (which I cannot rate highly enough btw) I then turned to the novels to find out how it all ended. I instantly fell for Mrs Madrigal's character, played by Olympia Dukakis in such a wonderfully warm manner. I found myself wishing that I lived at 28 Barbary Lane as one of her hand picked tennants. I'd wake up in the morning to find a joint taped to the front door made from her secret stash tucked away in the garden.
"Some people drink to forget. Personally, I smoke to remember."
'Aunt Sarah' Six Feet Under
The cool hippie aunt I always wished I had. So enthusiastic, creative, awesome, and with such a zest for life. Everything is an adventure with Aunt Sarah. I wanna visit her and her crazy friends at Tapanga Canyon, dance around a fire whilst banging an old drum, bark at the moon on magic mushrooms, and have her offer me a sly Vicodin at meal time.
