which bluelighters' posts do you admire?

So many I admire. There are two that are outstanding among the outstanding MDAO and Zorn. Their posts have great content and are flawlessly composed over and over. There are many other posters I admire in other sorts of ways but if Zorn and MDAO didn't already have a career I'd seriously suggest I think they could make it as columnists.

I can't believe no one mentioned Rachamim.

CE&P

Rachamim. (Best hawk perspective)
GenericMind. (Best flag waver/intelligence)
Ebola. (thought provoking)

And most importantly of all

Capstone (may his silence be short and his return home (alt theories) swift)

I really admire the way that Vader runs the CD forum. He's an excellent mod, and very knowledgeable.

It seems that some of the people in this thread are confusing this for "which bluelighters do you admire/like." Theres a diference between your "crew" of bl'ers, the people you are friends with on here and like, and people whose POSTS you admire for a particular reason.

You might not even LIKE somebody whose posts you admire, you feel me? Or, somebody whose one of your bl homies, they might be a great person but their posts might not be nothing particularly special or great that stands out from the crowd, u feel me? So we should make sure we remember to seperate between the 2.

It would be disappointing if this thread just turned into a lounge-style "name some of your favorite BLers" type thread.

I aint sayin that you CANT admire and respect the words and posting style of lots of people. but just the fact that lots of folks are just posting long lists, with no descriptions or reasons WHY , etc, seems like maybe some people are misinterpreting it in that way. I could be wrong so if i am my bad.

just pointin out that this is more about whose posts and way of saying things, etc, is one you admire, and really not about who you like as a person, if i understand Alis OP right...

Anyways....

<3I got much love for Kenickie, finally somebody on here who "gets" it when it comes to certain subjects i feel so strong about...racism, Islam, poverty in the US & the shit that comes along with it, childbirth, n so on....For years i been postin on here to an audience of people that, when it came to certain topics they just were not on the level with me and didnt understand no matter how much explanation and id just feel like i was bangin my head against a wall. Then homegirl came along and finally there was somebody who could see where im comin from and was also comin from there too. The day I noticed that was a good day of bluelightin' for me.:)<3

<3Phrozen is my dude, i been down with him since he was just a regular ol bl'er, long before mod, senior mod and admin status. aint no admin butt kissin here, Shit I was here before you was phroz;) JK--Anyways tho, Dude got the ability to say shit in a way that is like "OK, this is settled. Nuff said." but without havin to actually SAY that. His posts especially in a situation where theres an argument or some kind of disagreement in a thread, pop up and its just like a the fuckin head Don came into the room of some bickering kids and just stood there, staring at them with his srs-face until they all got quiet like "oh, shit, we better STFU now."
And I always respect that he knows wat the fuck hes talkin about. hes mad knowledgeable without comin off uppity or that 'got the answer for everything' vibe you get from some lesser wise posters. He can school a poster without that know it all arrogant kinda attitude that so many people got. And every once in a while right when you expectin somethin serious, he comes out with some funnny ass shit that makes me laugh when i least expect it. Got mad love for phrozen and his quiet, un assuming way of shuttin em down, always civil but still somehow able to make you be like "DAMN yo, he just fuckin OWNED that fool." Big ups to a guy whose well chosen words always hold much weight, even tho most of the time theres not too many of em.

<3I aint talked to him much, and sometimes I disagree with him but lately I been really admiring slimvictors style. He has a very gentle way of talking and is unendingly compassionate. he can face a person flaming him or talkin shit, bein disrespectful, and come back with a totally calm, thoughtful, and totally un-provoking reply that just makes the shit talker look so small in comparison. he dont stoop to the level, at least I dont think i can ever remember seeing him do that. Sometimes he is over sensitive it seems to me, and definately needs to "L2L" (learn 2 lounge) but still over all im always impressed by his deeply kind , caring, and gentle attitude.

Thats it for now but theres more for me to list. just dont wanna do it all in one post. Ill be back to add more here n there, for now these are the first few that popped into my head.

Edit:

<3Believe it or not, you know who else I want to add is MaxPower(s). He always makes me laugh, and for a long time I think his total disrespect for me was real we had a definitely 'interesting' beginning as 2 posters whenever we interacted in a thread, but these days I get the sense that theres some kind of mutual 'regard' goin on and I enjoy our lil some-wat 'rivalry'. He can go from funny to srs-mode without a thought and I always enjoy readin his posts in CEP. And sometimes he just comes out with a comment thats timed perfect and I do a IRL-LOL that makes me say too bad he thinks Im a dummy, cuz I think ehs a pretty cool guy and doesnt afraid of anything.

My favorite bluelighters that I admire(in terms of posts)...

Fastandbulbous-one of the main reasons that I chose to join Bluelight...insane chemistry knowledge in a friendly package

Captain.Heroin-helpful to so many including myself, active across the entire site

Laika-one of the first mods to be nice to me back in the day, one of the nicest people on this planet

ebola?-insane chemistry knowledge along with great insights into many subjects

Felix-brings a sense of humour to many forums that need it, has knowledge and isn't afraid to share it

So many more to mention.....

I would like to mention a few more...

Ocean-her posts inspire so many in TDS and she has a positive effect in all the forums she is involved in

Tally2.0-when I wander into the lounge he always is up to something funny and I admire his posts because they make me laugh during a tough day(which is hard to do).

Panic in Paradise.....and anyone else whose posts are slightly disjointed and funny looking. I mean, not formed in complete sentences and shit, when I read them in my head they sound very comical....someone who used to post here..I don't remember his name....he was a mod in TDS..I think his s/n started with a z...I admired him too.

The people who's posts I admire, are integrally tied up with those who I admire... :)
Not everyone segregates the two; my reasons are manyfold.
Can completely understand your concern though. :)

wow, this is tough 'cause i like a lotta you bitches. ;)

vibby - hands down my number one. equally hysterical with solid advice.
Benefit - dude seriously knows how to tell a story.
alasdairm - his advice is just so damn good and logical; plus he gets my HP reference so he gets a bunch of points on that alone. ;)
GenericMind - i don't much like his TL persona, but his "serious" posts especially in SLR are great.
ego_loss - i admire his unapologetic honesty and ability to say the shit people are thinking.)
AmorRoark - beautiful, intelligent, reads books too smart for me to comprehend, likes awesome music and she can hold her own with the boys.
Mariposa - she offers even-keeled, honest, respectful and very helpful suggestions.
StrawberryLoveMuffin - where for art thou? probably THE greatest SLR contributor to date.
ocean and n3o - for their equally awesome work in TDS. both very sweet, caring and selfless ladies.

i might need to revise this as i begin to think of more.

I'll start off with one fresh in my mind for the moment. There's so many that I'll have to ponder this question for a little while before I come back with an updated list.

Jamshyd - His font color immediately draws my attention. Usually while scrolling through a lot of bad noise or personal brain static, I'll immediately perk up and jolt myself out of a daydream when I see it.

He's not only a vast and enigmatic cache of knowledge and sound advice, but he's a kind and caring individual. A rare treat to find a man of his caliber.

Vibr8tor - Definitely one of the funniest BLers around

F&B - as theotherside stated, insane chemistry knowledge in a friendly package

Khadijah - An insanely informational badass, it's always a pleasure reading her posts.

*updates/adds to come

Wow.
I'm so surprised I actually made one persons list but even more I made more than one list!!
Thanks guys!!! :)

I love reading many many peoples post- but I will name a few........
MDAO, TLB, fizzle, Enki, and Ali.
Each are so well written and intelligent.

I will have more to list soon!! :)

Wow I am so humbled that some people have mentioned me as well!! <3 <3 <3
It's nice to know that my ramblings get noticed sometimes :)

My noteworthy posters mostly reside in TDS, with a few exceptions:
Legerity, he just hits the nail on the head EVERY time.
Enki, I appreciate his knowledge and wisdom so much.
Asclepius, she combines advice, compassion and humour all in to one ball of awesomeness :)
TheLoveBandit, for obvious reasons.
lacey, even though I need some Ritalin to actually get through her huge posts sometimes =D <3
Perpetual Indulgence and slushymuddywater both for their impeccable Lounge lolz, AND for both being the ultimate sassy ladies <3

There are more of course, but they are the ones who stick out in my mind at the moment.

Thanks fawkes <3 <3 You know I haven't forgotten you in my love list. ;)

I also have to mention louloureed because he's a non-native English speaker and yet makes more sense and usually better contributions in the F&T forum than 95% of the other posters. Rock on dude. I love your posts. :)

I'm not familiar enough with him to know if I admire him or not but this quote from GenericMind from the OBL is Dead thread is the funniest thing I've ever read on here.

"I've been lobbying the Admins to make BL read-only for everyone except me for years now."

He certainly has a way of making a point.

I want to share a post I made almost exactly 10 years ago. This is for nostalgia's sake.

Here goes nothing. I have S&D - Expeditions weaving out embracing layers of sound as a thoughtful backdrop to the mood of this post.
*Pixie* Stix - Lu, you're a priceless friend and ally. Your openness and feedback is comparable to nobody in my life. I have so much respect and admiration for you that can never be fully expressed through a written medium. You know me better than anyone in this community.
FoX - My brother in arms. Ask anyone how I feel about this guy and the response is unanimous. If you think FoX has a pleasing exterior, dig deeper. Always searching, always learning and giving back what he's learned. I can think of no noble cause greater than what you do by nature, good friend. Your encouragement and insight are two of your greatest aspects and you use them well.
Flower - I've had a some decent discussions with you but I haven't got a chance to really clamp down and surf the sine waves with you yet. I see beauty and eloquence in what you write. Whenver I talk to you, there's so much that I want to discuss, ask, explore and the words never seem to come out as planned. Luckily, there's no shortage of time.
Ice-9 - Another kindred spirit. You're a great partner in crime; always willing to shoot the verbal Pong back n' forth. Of anyone on the board, you'll likely be the first I meet. I look forward to the train ride to Toronto sometime in the near future.
Cherub - I hope a great many things and one of those is that you're happy. I've considered you a good friend for quite some time and I don't always get the time to expand on that as I should. My sincerity and gratitude goes out to you for giving so much of yourself to those around you.
Mystery Guest - Thank you.
L O V E L I F E - My lighter side looks up to you.
Lucas - My darker side looks up to you.
Geezer - Solid. Like Norm from Cheers, he's always a welcoming presence. More than that, he's a shrewd and vigilant foe.
Dagny, aly - Quite fond of these two.
Simon - Excellent guy. Probably one of the most underappreciated people on Bluelight as far as threads like these go. Pleasant as rain. Eh, the warm kind in the.. um, springtime..
wink.gif

Sinthetic - The only thing that I have against him is the fact that he gave up his mod spot in Music. A conneseur of the 1/4 beat, a matriarch of the massives, this guy simply rocks.
Skydancer - If you talk to him long enough, he sometimes slips and lets down his guard. In those moments, you get to see an amazing assortment of knowledge from A to Z. One step off the mainstream, but a fascinating guy.
To the concerned that write me - I'm adequately pleased to recieve this many e-mails from people inquiring about harm reduction. Keep them coming and best of luck to all of you. The more you ask, the more I learn.
PureWristLove and my fellow Choon seekers - Keep it flowing. There is nothing greater than music.
I'm out,
Kyk.
