where's your manners?

Last night was trying to watch a film but next door decided to go mental on his step-daughter, i've never heard them go at it so bad, it even made my mrs blood run cold it was that bad sounded like he was going to kill her, i'd been wanting to watch the film for over a week now but no. How rude!

We have a lot of Polish people where I work and even if you are right behind them as they go through a doorway they never ever hold the door open for anyone.
I always hold the door for someone behind me regardless of what sex they are, so this really gets on my nerves.
While I am at it they also never say either please or thankyou even if they have a perfect grasp of the English language.

never experienced that and been to poland loads of times. are you sure all the english people there aren't just xenophobic aresholes to them all the time? that would make me want to slam a door in their face.

Yes I am positive that their rudeness isn't down to the fact that every english person their is a racist. A lot of the Poles and Latvians are good friends of mine but this doesn't mean I can't find some of the things they do bad mannered.
I also hate it when english people don't hold the door open but I find it is mainly the Poles that do so.

So the Poles can't possibly be rude at my work place but all the English can be xenophobic arseholes?
Please you can't be serious?

I'll tell you what gets my goat - people bumping ancient threads, that's what! :)

It's easy to make generalisations about any kind of minority; you'll see a lot of it going down on this forum.

For the record Maxalfie I don't think you're xenophobic, but making those generalisations (even if it's based on your actual observations and with no malice intended) leaves you open to such criticisms. Obviously there is such a thing as cultural difference and some aspects of certain cultures can often be confused with rudeness, aloofness, lack of desire to integrate or whatever.

Having said that I've never noticed any disinclination toward 'please' and 'thank you' from any particular ethnicity or nationality; in fact I've probably noticed it more with indigenous Britons than any other group, probably because I encounter them more frequently.

People that use the Cash Machine to withdraw money, then wait for the receipt. check balance first, dickfuck!

haha, that gets me too!

I was at a cash machine yesterday and the first one I stood at didn't work so I moved to the next one along, which again didn't work so I moved to the final one, which was OK. As I put my card in someone went to the first one so I told them that the one I was on was the only one working yet he still felt the need to try putting his card in both of them.... Like I was going to lie to him just to piss him off?! That wound me up a little bit!

ah fuck, why can't people just use cash anyway to pay for their shopping, rather than chip and pin. It'so much fucking easier and quicker than waiting for those stupid chip n pin things. They buy a loaf of bread and a bunch of grapes or something and still use the fucking thing. This is why we are now queing twice as long these days whilst they are waiting for the stupid thing to go through. I was queing the other day and the woman in front was paying chip and pin for some irrellevant item and i went into a tranced stare but i didn't realise i was actually staring at her card in the machine until it twigged she was giving me a filthy look.Just use fucking cash then.

Actually this threads about manners rather than people using chip n pin. It'not bad manners, just inconvenience because i am an impatient cunt. Tents need to be pitched outside superstores to put an end to chip and pin, then catch the train home wondering why nothing happened.

VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!!!

Pavement behaviour.

People that just stop right in front of you without a by-your-leave to check their phone or some other trivia.

People that walk out of a doorway onto the pavement right in front of you without looking and expect you to just give way.

People who walk four abreast and are incapable of separating to allow one person through.

^^ All of these.

Sometimes I will specifically track down people on the street who I suspect are likely to make an infraction, and deliberately put myself in harms way. Almost trying to see how much I can take.

People who go through doors aware that your right behind them and swing them back in your face:X I dont have many pet hates but that is one of them, a bloke that I work with does this on a regular basis and I always think what a wank. If I am aware someone is behind me I always wait and hold the door for them!

People that don't move when you're obviously trying to get past..

People that push in front of Q's..

def people who push in front of queues, especially those who make up bullshit reasons to do so. dunno why my 2 examples are airport related but fuck they pissed me off, prob cos both queues were insanely slow.

1. 'I only have hand luggage!!' just what???
2. 'this queue prioritises business class people'- whilst true, that guy then sat behind me in economy.
