I wanted to ride some waves before I picked the kids up from school but there was no swell

At least the sun was out. Going house shopping this afternoon. My accountant has given me a confidence boost that I will be able to afford something funky with a view.

Tonight I've been at a fund raising "meal and a talk" evening at the village hall where my folks live, to raise money to repair the church. I organise the raffle which means that my job is basically tearing off strips of tickets and folding them into quarters to put in the bowl, about 400 of them. Got a couple of free glasses of wine, a decent meal and to watch slides of someone's holiday photos to China though (yeah, the talks are never too complicated...), and to experience the creepy feeling of being in a close knit community village hall surrounded by 60 people all twice my age and beyond. Still, it's all for a good cause, I'm not religious but the church in my folks' village is a beautiful little building and it would be a shame to see it go to ruin.

In other, more positive news, I reckon I'm recovered enough from my last surgery to not need my parents' support any more so I'm moving back to my flat tomorrow. Only a week to go until my hospital consultation and if they think I've healed internally I could be having my third and final op in a month's time, so it might not be for long. But I'm going crazy here with nothing to do, so just the busyness of looking after myself will be a help I think. Looking forward to choosing exotic meals to cook and walking into town daily to buy ingredients. Got no work contracts on at the moment so going to do a personal portfolio art project to fill the rest of my days. Got some nice weed and benzos to complete the experience!

There is a website that gives the locations of places such as abandoned hospitals,tube stations etc that my mate uses as he goes to these places for his photography.
When I see him I will ask him what the website is called as some of the places he has visited look really eerie from the photos he has shown me.

I went to a couple famous ones when i was younger.. anyone know the name Cane Hill? Was by far the best one.. there was one room that was knee deep in artwork done by patients.. i found a crappy drawing which simply said: My mother has the devil in her heart and a pretty well pastel drawn picture of a group of people in town.. bent over onto blocks.. with their heads rolling around their feet.

The longer places like these exist and are known about they become less interesting.. people take bits and pieces and remove the buildings history,
