And, depending what he's doing at the time, they might be able to arrest him and completely devastate the rest of his life. That's a big risk to take when you're just trying to find out how someone is. If he's in a vulnerable place the last thing he needs is the filth at the door sticking their fucking hooters in.

OK, so getting the police involved was a bad idea. But IME they do give you info (I once had a friend who left a psychiatric hospital and did a 'disappearing act', as i was worried about her i contacted the police who informed me that she had left the UK, and returned to her home country)
 
Your heart was in the right place. Just the mere mention of Ver Filf gets EADD all hot under the (preferably un-felt) collar. ;)
 
I posted a letter with a stamped addressed envelope in it yesterday, asking for him and letting him know people cared and were worried by his longer than expected absence.


We could really do without the negativity and wild speculation in this thread folks.
 
My money is on him having moved (I don't know, but I'm fairly certain that he would have been staying in a DSS pad) & not having internet access, a working PC (the cunt broke those things all the time!) or a phone. He's probably got plenty of other fun things to do (read: drugs!) so won't have the inclination to go to an internet cafe & spend what little money he has checking in here.

Shambles is like The Highlander. He'll be fine.

I would like to see him back though, it's not the same without him.

I really think people should back off a little.

I live 2 hours away. I have his address. I've been here done that before.

Just chill awhile.

Agree - the man is allowed to not be on BL if that's what he wants to do. Appreciate a lot of people are concerned but, as you say "it comes with the territory".
 
100% agree with the above two comments.

If I decided to do a bolt from here for a while I wouldn't really want people fucking hounding me. I appreciate that people are just concerned etc but there's not much you can actually do. If he wants to re-appear he will. Maybe he's reading all this & laughing his arse off?
 
Two months and 112 posts and nobody even knows if the lad is alive or dead?

If concerned, knock on his door. Vague speculations serve no purpose and are mildly unsettling.

Yeah agree as well SHM if his had a couple of letters and is either not responding or has moved on the another abode and chooses not to post here at the mo its his business. I guess we all just miss such a fine character, but he wasnt exactly what you'd decribe as relaible at any time:)

So has shambles mangled his PC or had his internet cut off and decided to just not contact anyone via any means for more than 6 months before then? That would certainly put my mind at rest if that were the case.
 
Talking to the police is definitely not a good idea, last time they turned up on his door step he swallowed all his bagged up stash and was rolling around on the sofa laughing at all the pretty colours if I remember correctly.

He may well not want to see us, that's fine, but I really would like to know that a) he's alive and b) he's safe. We won't intrude if we're not wanted but I consider him a pretty good friend and I feel the least we can do is swing by, even if he tells us to fuck off (which I will be a hell of a lot happier with than finding him unwell or not alive..)
 
I'm sure if he appears as friendly as he does on the forum he's not going to react too badly to a few BL'rs calling up to see him. Doesn't mean he'll return to here but at least someone can confirm he's alive and well.

Reading these posts makes me think people are doing it for themselves out of curiousity more than for Shambles himself.

Take plenty of drugs and food with you if you go.

Yeah, he scoffed a load of bagged-up 2C-B and reckoned he ended up with about 300mg in his system 8o Crazy bastard, who else could accidentally do a third of a gram of 2s? I do miss him, hopefully he'll pop in at some point, this isn't the first time he's disappeared.
