Where's Help For My Son???????

Do you guys just honestly not follow what is going on in the world today? Do all of you live in fantasy worlds of optimistic nonsense? People don't give 2 shits and a hand basket about drug addicts in this world, they can't understand what they go through and their solution is always the same: "Why can't you just stop using?" well that theory works for every drug EXCEPT opiates in particular. I dunno I just always have learned to NEVER get your hopes up therefore you can never be let down by the answers you will receive....
Dude I live in the same world you do. I'm clean, I went to rehab without insurance, I have Medicaid and have for about 3 years, I got into a recovery house with no money 3 times and have found tons of help and support from dozens of people. I'm a couple hours from Akron Ohio its no different over there. I doubt it anyways Akron is the birthplace of AA coincedentally. I was actually gonna go there this weekend as it was founders day comemerating when it was founded. This place is pessimistic as hell sometimes. I know its called the dark side but Fuck not everyone are selfish bastards lol. Help is there you just need to look and ask for it.

My friend got into detox with no insurance, no money, and no home just a few months ago, so I doubt a lot has changed since then. If the world operated under the "why can't you just stop using?" premise, then there wouldn't be so many detox and rehab facilities. You are not going to get any help with an attitude like yours, though. I'm sorry if you havent had much luck getting help, but that's not the case for everyone.

If you are going to debate the effectiveness of staying clean after getting out of rehab or detox, then this isn't the thread for that. The OP is simply asking about getting her son help given his current living situation, and we are providing answers to her.

Its not easy to get into a detox or rehab treatment but its possible. They have waiting lists before a bed opens up. These are free facilities. They pretty much detox you and let you be..
