Hi Guys,

Perhaps this is not the correct place on the site to post this kind of thing, but -

I find that since I tried Oxycodone (I did so orally probably about 15-20 times several months ago) and to a lesser extent, Morphine (which I tried once, orally) the bar on LIFE has just been raised immensely.

By this I mean not so much that I can't enjoy things - because I can - and I guess things are going well (study, work, relationship, friends etc) but that always and in some small way there is a thought in me that remembers the feeling.

I used to really really love things like benzos, pingers or even just alcohol, but now everything just completely PALES in comparison. Things are still good I suppose, but I feel like oxy's just capped my life in terms of pleasure and nothing will ever displace that. Sort of like it was a complete state, and everything else aims at capturing some of it...anyone?

I guess all you can do is stay off them. The longer you stay off them the more you will forget how they made you feel and you will find other things to do and realise that they can in fact bring you just as much or even more real pleasure than oxy could ever do. Its just wile youre doing the oxy your brain is telling you that thats the only thing that can make you feel good, its all in your head. The longer you do them the longer it takes to go back to normal so your lucky you didnt do them for like a year or something.

Good luck with staying away from them, do some exercise and it will give off endorphins in your brain that will make you feel better and wont make you feel like shit after, it really is like getting high on life.

What you're experiencing is the first stages of addiction. Like the above poster said, try to stay off them for a while.

You've had opiates 15-20 times and nothing seems 'special' anymore. Imagine how it feels after years of daily opiates. Its horrible.

But, if you do ever get to that stage, I'll tell you the secret to feeling good again: as many different sexual partners as possible (w/ protection of course)

trust me, you don't want to use them every day. THEY WILL STOP GIVING YOU THAT FEELING

i would recommend using once every two weeks, if you HAVE to use it. i should have stuck to my once per two weeks plan :) <-- that means be very careful, especially with your attitude towards the opiates

Welcome to opiate hell =D YOu have two or 3 options really in my eyes:

Stay away for a while if not ever and remember it as a fun experiment (the safest)

or

Keep on using now and again and try and control yourself (the best way ideally i suppose)

or

Go on a massive binge and get it out of your system forever (This is dangerous and obviously high risk in terms of possible addiction or OD).

I chose option 2 myself leading onto option 3.

ahhh the fucked up world of opiates, I have been clean awhile now and I still reminisce about opiates. I think the only reason I have stayed clean is two UA's a week....

Don't touch them again would be the best advice, unless you would rather be a slave to them, end up losing jobs, relationships, friends and a bank account because of them. Very few people can use them sparingly when they really like them. It's just human nature. So my best advice is to stay away from them, period. I used and abused them for 10 years, lost everything and now I'm on Suboxone therapy. The sad thing is, you won't take my advice. When I was where you are, I wouldn't have taken my advice. Be very careful.

Your at a crossroads, do yourself a favor and quit while your ahead. The way i been feeling lately, if I could do it all over, I would go back and stop myself. It only led to me picking up the needle and here I am today. I was addicted physically for years and today I am far worse IMO. Physical addiction is forgotten memory and eludes me, but the psychological addiction is going to be the death of me. The depression, the angst, the guilt, the thoughts after I use. I don't know how the fuck I manage not to say fuck it and mix up a hot shot or blow the addiction out of my head with a bullet.

Quit while your ahead kid, while you can still see the world in color without morphine, before everything turns to battleship gray.

Guido Edit: Yeah the life bar gets raised. But the higher it goes the harder it is to jump over that bar. As I sit her sipping my Schlitz and wallowing in my empty dreams of wanting to get high I wish i could back in time and stop myself from ever using. Feels bad man...

Congratulations. You just found your drug of choice. Now, the most important thing to do is stay the hell away from it! There's a junkie born every minute, and trust me, you don't want to be one of them.

Please! Listen to one who knows!8o

Opiates = Life 2.0 Great aye? Until...

I guess i can kinda control my use. I can take oxys for days(even weeks) on end then stop for weeks and im ok.

What i look for in my usage is the perfect nod, not the one where your nodding off right to sleep and totally out of it, nearly ODing, but the controlled one. Some nods Ive been able to Lucid dream at will during them and its an amazing spiritual experience. And once or twice when i have hit the perfect dosage and nod ive been able to obtain complete control of my dreams, fly and all that kinda shit.

Shit guys, thanks heaps.

But it is really hard to just decide never to try it again. I would feel like I am robbing myself of something.

I remember when I was using all this oxy a few months ago I would absolutely and immediately disregard every limit I set myself. "Ok, this is great. After this, I will leave this for a month. I would have to, anyway, because I have no more." As soon as it starts to wear off I am out the door and in front of a doctor. Scarily good, huh?

Does oxy lead inevitably to H?

Hahaha, ROLFMAO. QF-fucking-T. Every addiction I've kicked (painkillers, meth, nicotine) has always been replaced for quite awhile with just this very thing. And I def agree... having one horny gf just doesnt cut it compared with countless randoms. :)

i've been taking oxy and hydros for years. I startted out taking a few a day, thinking I had everything under control. next thing I know, i'm taking 30 or more a day. I quit cold turkey 8 days ago and now i'm in wd hell. stay away from them, they will ruin your life, and your family's lives. I know, unfortunately.

The answer or reason is very incomplex. Opiates are euphoric, everything seems better while you're on them. Once you become accustomed to the feeling, you realize that everything that is fun would be better on opiates. I'm a former addict and I think the funnest thing I did was either go to kings island on oxy, or ride a buddies 1100cc jetski that would hit 78. Both times I does 160 mg of oxy. 50 in the nose and 130 chewed and sent down the hatch. Oxy typically leads to H because after a while, especially when your ROA is your nose, 80s will start to not do shit and become too expesive to purchase multiple times daily. H you can slam and spend much less per dose. What yo uhave been saying is the mindset of an addict, prior to addiction realization.

Yep, that's pretty much how opiate addiction works. And it all revolves around the concept of "normal".

1st stage: you become more aware of your "normal" aches and pains. This can occur as early as the first dose. So usage becomes weekly.

2nd stage: you don't get as much enjoyment out of the "normal" pleasures, unless you are on opiates. So usage becomes almost daily.

3rd stage: you don't quite feel "normal" unless you are on opiates. So usage becomes daily. This is the "point of no return." You're pretty much fucked.

4th stage: without opiates you feel physically ill. You'll learn that once your eyes water and nose runs, you'd better find a fix soon. At this point, your concept of normalacy is inextricably tied to opiate consumption. You may experience periods of "being clean". Maybe for a week, a month, or even years. But that monkey will always be on your back.

Yeah it's super depressing doing things now that i used to do on opiates (go on dates, go to class, shit...anything). Like others have mentioned you are very fortunate to not have become physcially addicted yet.

try working out and running.

also get up your basketball skills and play some pickup at a local gym. (i recommend shooting a lot tho cuz u dont want to make yourself look foolish your first couple times out there. basketball is an amazing sport tho and there's nothing better than scoring on some guy, or swishin a 3 in a guy's face.
