Aye man, it's a great game. I tried to go back to playing it the other day but the childlike excitement for GTA is stopping me from being able to enjoy any other game just now.
Nah you're thinking of X-isle, which was the tech demo the Yerlis made (based on an island and including a t-rex, so quite Turok-like) which eventually became the Cryengine, which is what Far Cry (but not its sequels, they're made by Ubisoft I think), Crysis and the excellent forthcoming Ryse are made with.
I don't think I've heard of X-isle. I must have just made that up. I looked up pictures of Turok there and it's not the game I was thinking of at all.

Turok on n64 was ghahahhash. The draw distance was so short it was like hunting dinosaurs in actual soup.

^ That was the problem with the N64. Developers would use small cartridges, to save cost, and so therefore games like this started to suffer as the developers had to cut corners.
Turok developers learnt from this mistake, and it's sequal, Turok 2: Seeds of evil, came on a whopping 512mb cartridge (Only the Legend of Zelda equalled it in size), and also Nintendo developed a ram add on, which was used for the game to allow it to run properly
Turok 2 was a very impressive game for it's time. Though, no-where near the class of Goldeneye...

Aye, Turok 2 was amazing. I loved the weapon that burrowed into the monsters heads and then exploded. Brains everywhere!

Hahaha I can't remember it being that bad but there's the proof, visually it wasn't appeasing but I really loved it
Aye I loved that game too, ever play the old red faction games? Could blow holes in the walls and create tunnels, great for sneaking up on people

I'm playing red faction 2 now (got a ps2 t other day). Class game.
I badly need to get another dreamcast but the prices on games are a piss take.(consooes are quite cheap tho).
