I work in PR (used to be journalism). The company I work for is Australia's largest eucalyptus oil manufacturer and they also have their own range of various health products, herbal formulas and various other bits and pieces like thermometers and vaporizers.
Basically I spend all day writing bullshit press releases on how X tonic or Y pills can help you feel full of wellbeing and vitality; book ads and manage our advertising budget/schedule and other stuff like write for the website and arrange giveaways on radio/in newspapers etc.
It's a good well paid job but I'm bored out of my brain 99% of the time. It's such a boring, stick-in-the-mud, old fashioned company, there is no fun here AT ALL... in fact I think they've written a 'no fun' clause into our contracts 8)
Ideally, I'd be working as a writer on a magazine such as Good Medicine or Cosmopolitan (heh can't you just see me writing the "200 ways to give a blow-his-head-off-blowjob" articles?). And somewhere with a bit of life and fun. But those jobs are as rare as hen's teeth and I'm not very highly motivated. I can't complain too much, it's pretty cruisy here mostly.
