At 10:50 I took 20mg of Hydromorphone oral
At 11:00 I parachuted 30mg of Oxy IR.
If you've read my other threads then you know 20mg of Dilaudid doesn't seem to provide me with any pain relief. (It really does suck taking hydromorphone orally....) I accidentally took the 30mg of oxy. I had two parachutes on my table one with a purple band around it to signify that it was the 30mg and one I planned to take with a reddish band with 10mg in it. I took the 30mg one because my mind was just completely elsewhere. If my conversions are correct I've taken 31.25mg of Hydromorphone (altogether). I just went to a pain doctor from the Cleveland Clinic who said he couldn't do anything for me which I thought was completely ridiculous. This week I'll be seeing my general doctor who has been doing the pain management with me. The problem is he's primarily a pediatrician (I've been going to him for awhile) he's also "Internal Medicine" but he knows nothing basically about pain medications and treatments. The positive thing is that if I can rationally and reasonably present something he tends to go for it unless he has an idea himself. I'm not knowledgeable at all on the subject obviously. What I'm looking for is suggestions to take to him. I'm very atypical just in general medically. Usually a CP patient would be on an extended release drug but when I was on Oxycontin I found I had to take a lot more of it in a day than I did of just the Oxy IR 10mg tabs in a day. It seems that instant release drugs work better for me for my pain for whatever reason. I suffer from headaches with an undiagnosed cause. Obviously narcotics are not what anyone really wants to use especially for headaches but I've just been through literally every other treatment over the years. Oxycodone is best friends with my strange body. Its always worked without side effects and even when I've had to go down off of 120mg a day tapering down in 3-4 days its been very very very easy until my pain stopped being relieved for almost 6 months now. My body can go for days without pain medication is I'm able to fully knock out the pain (take it from a 10 to like a -1). Meaning if this dose of stuff I took about an hour ago knocks out the pain like that (which I don't think it's going to at this point). I will be able to go 2-3 days without using ANY pain meds. The cool thing is I won't go into withdrawal either (isn't that strange?!?!). So are there any suggestions any of you have? Please include method of use if it's something that comes in various forms. Also a dosage would be nice if you could do that based on the info I gave you about the Dilaudid and Oxycodone IR. This would be such a great help to me. Thank you!
It's 11:43 now and I'm starting to feel a little strange. (I get anxious sometimes because my doctor always tells me he checks the papers every morning to see if I died from respiratory failure. Suddenly not being able to breathe has been my number one fear since childhood. I know that's not how it works with sedatives but you can understand obviously why I would get a little nervous....
