When we die, do we go on a permenate trip??? (Read article inside)

I haven't read a single word in this thread, but here you go: time doesn't exist under the influence of psychedelics-- if DMT is released like Mr. Strassman suggests, would we ever know if our little DMT-fueled vacation from earth ended?

Pic looks to me like the cacodemon from the Doom series of video games.

Seriously though, the phenomenon is called 'pareidolia', and really doesn't mean anything other than that the brain is programmed to be able to create meaningful imagery out of random input, especially common is the recognition of faces resembling that of a human. A famous example of this is the cydonia region of Mars, where a face can be picked out.

Just the same as seeing jebus scratching his bottom in a slice of burnt toast, or angels in cloud formations, bugger all evidence of a higher power.

Besides, if we are to believe the christian bible, read the OT, god comes off as a power hungry genocidal, baby-killing narcissistic wanker, and by all accounts, IF he were to exist, I belive mankind would have the duty to oppose him, and if possible, kill him.

Okay, I'm no doctor, but you can't administer a lethal dose of barbiturates, have a patient dead for 15 minutes, and then revive them. Doesn't happen, just doesn't. This sounds like a load of bullshit. I have heard of near death experiences being extremely pleasant, but this study write-up is fake.

I think this pretty much sums up this thread

Great discussion everyone! I found this "article" very interesting and wanted everyone's input but I'm in no position to claim anything fake or real. I just wanted some opinions on afterlife and DMT similarites. Commen sense says this story does sound very bizzare. How the hell can you revive someone after there dead for 15 minutes? I really hope this story is fake because But would I hate to die and end up on a permante Bad Trip aka HELL for eternity. Now that would really suck.

But how can we be judged on how we lived our life when we have absolutly no control over what kind of person we will end up being? Way off topic but just something I wonder about a lot.

Some very interesting theries here and I just wish one day we we learn more about the human brain and less about making nuclear weapons, killing, scams etc.

Great post. And I actually used to believe in the Holy Bible. As I got older I and started learning different religions in school I thought to myself, How the hell do we know were even following the right religion? (if there is one) Oh yea faith that's how.... Sorry I'm not buying it anymore. No way would a real God punish people who were raised up being taught a different religion. No way would a god who's kicking back watching everything go on in the world allow women be raped, and kids be killed in war not do anything about it when he supposedly has the power to do anything. I just find that very hard to believe. There might be a God out there and at this point, I do believe there is one. But it's not what these religious freaks except it to be... Praying won't change anything. God doesn't favor any person over another. We are here on this earth and were either lucky or not. That's all there is to it.

Anyway...

^^ If it is impossible to revive "truly" dead people. I think this article is fake, because putting anyone in the state of clinical death for a good 15 minutes is not safe at all. It is possible that a person will recover after such 15 minutes, but not everyone is able to recover even after 5 minutes.

Besides that, this "nazi experiment" proves nothing about life after death.

I like this discussion though.

I think if there was a god, then awful things such as rape, murder, and the existence of the nasty thing that calls itself fried fish in batter from the local chippy, would still happen. Free will. If there is to be free will, then that precludes a deity intervening to save humanity from most revolting practises. But just the same, it precludes such acts as the burning of sodom and gomorrah, favouring the israelites over the canaanites and what have you.

All or nothing, especially when the playing field is as large as the damn planet=D

Doubt this so called experiment was ever done in the first place.

If it turns out I am wrong and there is a god...then if possible, I'll shank the cunt at the last minute, guy seems like a real bastard.

This is the actual link to the spirit molecule about dmt. This subject is really interesting. I have a few friends that have done it and have reported some really spiritual happenings that are quite intriguing.

All I know is my psychedelic experiences have given me this lurking feeling that this is just the beginning. There has to be meaning to all of this. I don't think we all are living our lives just because it's the way it happened. I think something is ahead of us far beyond the unimaginable.

Then there are also a lot of things that stop those thoughts in their tracks. Like when a good person passes away. It doesn't seem to make sense and makes this life seem so pointless.
