when to take anithistamine with codeine?

well it's to late now. i took 50mg of promethazine 5 mins before 400mg codeine.
firstly is promethazine one of the AHs that potentiate codeine?
secondly. did i take the promethazine at the wrong time. should i have taken it 1/2 hr before or maybe 1/2hr after?

the only otc AH available otc here are dph, doxylamine & promethazine.
do all these 2 work with potentiation?
I also had doxylamine laying around & am wondering id i should have taken that one instead?

i have heard doxylamine is better , but i still need to find out for myself . take antihistamines around 30-45 mins before , promethazine induces the cyp2d6 enzyme so it converts less codeine-morphine , but it increases sedation . i was told by someone to use Mylanta , which im gonna try soon , but also doxylamine .

try DXM for potentiation , i find it works great , 30-60mg DXM 30-60 mins before u dose , then some antihistamines 30-45 mins before , smoke some weed when the codeine peaks , thats the best potentiation right there i reckon lol , besides low doses of other opiates and mixing with benzos .

Don't expect any miracles from taking an antihistamine with codeine, other than being less itchy, and maybe feeling a little more sedation. You won't get higher in terms of the opiate high. Take them 30 minutes before you take the codeine as said above.

oh shit so ive fucked up my codeine high ah by taking promethazine. Does doxlylamine or dph reduce the conversion to morphine too?

btw i havnt touched dxm in like 8 years. if i bought a bottle i wouldnt be able to help myself. id be thinking to myself. if i drink that bottle i'll be able to lay down feeling numb all over. id end up robotripping

lol so ur a robotripper , i wouldnt say u fucked up ur codeine , ive read it doesnt make much difference to the high . doxylamine doesnt inhibit* ( correction inhibit is the one that makes it convert less ) the conversion of codeine-morphine .

Codeine is unique ofcourse because its the c6G & morphine it get metabolized to, not the codeine itself which gives it its effect!

well in my cupboard I have doxlylamine, & promethazine. i can easily get diphenhydramine too.
so which is the best. & do u take it before, with or after the codeine?

I also have seroquel which is an antihistamine in low doses. not sure if that could be helpful.

& im not a robotripper lol. that shit was so strange. really. it's like legal ketamine or PCP. it's insane they sell it otc. its like lsd on the flip side. lsd enhances ya outer world while dxm enhances ya inner world. I remember laying down having cevs to the point it was like a conscious dream of being somewhere else. It's definitely a drug that's worth a try. ppl go spend money on acid when u can get a very srong trip from dxm. if u buy the large bottle with 600mg its enough to have ya staggering around & strong cevs. ive read trip reports of ppl taking over a gram on erowid. talking to aliens & stuff. & plateau sigma sounds out of this world.

^ Doxylamine doesn't inhibit CYP2D6, I think it's quite good with opioids actually.

Promethazine should be taken after the codeine, I personally wait at least half an hour. It does inhibit CYP2D6, and I have had potential codeine buzzes ruined because I forgot about this and took the promethazine before or with the codeine.

ppl go spend money on acid when u can get a very srong trip from dxm.

That's because LSD beats DXM at any dose, any day, in my book.

I feel little to no recreational effects from it, even in big dosages

^ You are likely deficient in CYP2D6, the enzyme that metabolizes codeine into morphine. 10% of the Caucasian population are genetically deficient in this enzyme.

So without the codeine becoming morphine, you just get the side effects from the histamine release. Not a lot of fun I suppose.

No not at all! I took 9 30mg Codeine Phosphate the other day and they just made me itch like hell and go really hot!

Well the dihydrocodeine you are talking about in the other thread should work just fine though for you; even though it gets metabolized by the same enzyme into dihydromorphone, it does not need this metabolism to still have a typical opioid effect.
