First of all, use a product that contains only dextromethorphan (no other active ingredients), and not dextromethorphan polistirex as that is a time-released formulation of dextromethorphan. Have you ever used dextromethorphan before theraputically for cough? Some people are effected especially strongly by nature, so a "normal dose" for most could give you way more than you wanted. So you ought to do a test dose to make sure you respond normally to the drug, I'd say maybe 60 mg for a test dose, but don't know that that would be the ideal test dose. If 60 mg doesn't do much for you, or you only feel a little off you likely respond to it normally. It is hard to say what an ideal dose would be, as there are a number of important factors which go into it. How much do you weigh? What effects are you after? The main desirable effects include euphoria and dissociation. Music is wonderful as you have probably heard. The higher the dose, the more dissociated you will become with your body, and the more intense an experience it will be. Ego death is a possibility. Motor skills become very impaired. Have you had experience with any dissociatives before? They are rather unique in how they work, so it might not be what you expect. An anti-psychotic won't really kill the trip, but it might help you sleep it off. I have actually never vomitted after taking DXM, but a lot of people do report it. The only unpleasantness when it comes to nausea I experience tends to be with downing the syrup. 354 mg is the most I've ever taken at once, and the experiences around that dosage for me were VERY intense at times. I weighed about 140 - 150 lbs at the time. DXM can be very fun, but it is a different type of experience if you have never experienced dissociatives before. The CEV's can be incredible, and the "trip" that accompanies them especially with music. You just lay there, and get lost in some other world. Have fun, be safe.
