When is suicide the best option

mdb, i didnt know that about ronnie osullivan. i mean i knew about his past, just always thought snooker was his ticket back.

Snooker was like his tormentor and outlet at the same time. If he couldn't play anything less than perfect snooker all the time his temprament would crumble. He missed the whole of the season last year, only deciding very late on to play in the world championships. Of course he won, beat everyone easily. I find this inspring that someone with massive mental health problems can achieve such great suceess despite his torments.

Didnt you know he was bipolar. During some of his matches you could see the guy disintegrate right before you, he would wear a a towel over his head as he felt so ill he didnt want the TV camers on him, on one occasion like when he couldnt pot a ball and got slowly beaten by a player no where near his class in the form of Graham Dott, that should have been another world championship for Ronnie but his head had gone. He was in so much mental pain he was scratching at his face and almost drawing blood. Then ofcourse he just walked out about 3 frames into a match with Hendry as he attempted an over ambiutious shot, fucked it up, so shoock Hendry's hand and walked out the arena. That was in the UK championships.

I used to think ROS was a bit of an arsehole but after reading his autobiography I feel like i know him, and my heart goes out to him every time i see him. 5 world championships under his belt with all that hes been through. Plus his prime years were also the prime years of John Higgins and Mark Williams, two formidabbly brilliant champions. Davis and Hendry never had quite such tough consistent competition during their hay days..

This still makes me smile. =D

I wish Mugz was still here to talk about snooker with. I remember some pics he posted of himself going to watch the UK championships dressed as a jester. Presumably he supported the Jester from Leicester; Mark Selby. Mugz didnt do things by halves did he. :)

Most of my support went to Alex Higgins. Jimmy White & Ronnie were the natural successors to become the "peoples champions". Its all about style and those guys had/have bags of it.

Alex Higgins was the best player on earth when pissed out of his head. Heres the evidence:

Higgins had more than his fair share of problems too. Mostly in the form of Steve Davis. :sus:

Hi folks,

I was indeed high and in a very bad place when I posted that. My boyfriend played the "let's be friends and see where it goes" card, which I jumped at, then he stopped replying to my texts. Another friend pointed out to me that that probably meant "be my pussy on tap".

What happened was that I got very fucked up on benzos and made a twat of myself. After a few days of pestering me for sex (which I was in no mood for, coming down from a hellish benzo binge not to mention recovering from the fabled gbl addiction) he broke up with me. Now, I can call him a cuntfacedtwatfuckerwankerBASTARD, but I can see his side of it too. He has no experience in dealing with such things. I do - and it still scares the shit out of me looking after someone in that state. So we were a poor match, even though things were going well for a while.

Benzos + me = disaster. I've never had benzos and had anything other than disaster. So no more benzos. No problem, luckily for me I've never had any positive effects from them.

All I can say is thank you all so very very much for your kind words and support. I know a lot of people do struggle with real, long term depression, but for those who find themselves in a dark spot and don't always feel that way.... hang on, it does get better.

In the end I did go to the GP, and tried to get pregabalin out of them but they said they can't prescribe it. So referred me to a drug addiction place..... i.e. key worker and all that stuff. That doesn't seem right to me -- I do have my problems but there are people in much much more need of help than me and I would feel wrong taking up someone's time. So I'll speak to them, and see if there are any groups in the area or similar that I could go to.

Thanks again guys.

i was brought up on snooker my nan who looked after me for most of my 1st 10 years except when i was in the states was a huge fan .

watched it through the golden era she loved all the mavericks jimmy alec , but when RONNY done that 147 i was glad she lived 2 see that it was immense i read his book n felt what he was saying on a level kinda .

Darts players were similar Jockey Wilson what skill but so troubled .

my dad worked with this legend

Bob Andersonv John Lowe - 1988 Embassy Darts - Final Leg

he gave pro darts a shout cos he was decent did the javelin as a athlete as well but back then you had to have a day job 2 until the fag's sponsored it n Bullseye made it huge .

Lakeside is the home of darts don't like SKYs coverage.

I loved the way ROS needed to do very well to stay in the top 16 last year and avoid having to play the qualification rounds to make the finalk televised stages. They are certainly beneath Ronnies dignity. He skipped every tournament except the world champs which he won, guarenteeing himself a top 16 rank next season. How confident is that. When he's got his head on right and his game clicks into top gear he is untouchable.

Im very sad and am almost certain he will be too proud lower himself enough to qualify for the latter stages in some untelevised booth with 1 man and his dog watching. ROS cant even motivate himself for some of the major national and international events, theres no way i can see him going throgh the qualifiers at Pontins. When he started as a pro he had to, he won his first 67 matches in a row or someting like that. And about 80 out of 79 matches. Err theres a sligtly gifted new kid in town here everyone.

Btw sorry for taking the thread off topic a bit, it started relevant about Ronnie acieveing great success despite his problems.

Something I heard once that always stuck with me was "no matter how bad or how good things look - give it 30 days, it will change." I've never considered suicide an option in the least. It's just not. There's always options however, there is always hope to be found if you have the will to continue living and we all do, for the most part - survival is the most basic of all instincts, IMO. When you feel hopeless, often it really is just a matter of the "little things" -- some of which are mentioned here, like a good night's sleep. Sleep is like the body's "reset" button. Also, it just so happens that, sometimes, you just feel like shit and have to sit with that for a while. It sucks but that is a part of life for us all. Remember you're not alone, many many people have felt the way you do before, are feeling that way now, or will feel that way in the future. The human condition can be a terrifying prospect sometimes, indeed, but it goes with the territory. Glad to hear things seem to be getting better - blessings to you and your family.

My nan used to cross Ronnie O'Sullivan across the road to school, his cousion also played at the local snooker hall we used to visit.

Suicide is there when there aint any other option, when everything has turned to shit, you only know it's time when you cant see any way out & all your other options have been used up.

For me suicide will only become an option if i had nobody.. nobody that will care that I'm dead.. And, obviously, I don't want to be alive any more.

Until then (and even after then) things can get better, Be the change you want to see.
