(answered) When I reply to my blog or blog post it duplicates the reply.

I searched and couldn't find anything so Im posting here. If you look at my last blog started tonight, whenever I reply to the blog or some one has replied to it and I try to reply to them, the reply blog is saved twice as in yep two copies of the reply are saved. Does anyone have any ideas? I also can not find a way to delete the replies, (although as of this writing I did not check under Advanced so there may be something in there to delete, not sure, will check, either way can someone address the duplication issue?

Hey guys, I have tried everything I can on my side in order to stop this from happening but to this day its still occurring, in fact I just replied to a reply on one of my blogs and again my reply popped in twice. So if anyone can think of anything else that could be causing this? Has anyone tried this in their blog and had the same results or does this just appear to be a local problem with me? If it's believed to be a local problem with me, then I could really use some help in understanding what I can do to get it to stop. Thanks guys!
 
Since I just saw a double post from you in your other thread here, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that this is being caused by user error... are you double clicking when you hit "post reply" or getting a time-out issue and then posting the reply again or any number of other things that can cause a double post? We'll wait for others to respond here but that would be my guess...
 
i have not noticed it happening with other blogs.

fizzle's suggestion is interesting. i am going to go test that out.
 
Im not getting any errors when replying, but there is a possibility of a double click issue, as this laptop does have a problem with its left mouse button and that could be having an impact, but I would have expected this to be seem even when replying to a post and not just with the blogs, and not having the same problem else where. If you dont mind, can I create a blog just to test this issue? Sort of like creating a blog sandbox so to speak? That would be helpful to me.
 
^ Yes, go ahead an do so. I think that you had double posted in your other thread in support yesterday, so it doesn't seem to be isolated to just blogs.
 
i just tried double (more like a zillion) clicking to add a comment to my blog and i got an error message:

This comment is a duplicate of a comment that you made within the last five minutes in the following Blog: random musings.

or it just posts one comment. i can't get it to double post. i tried left clicking, using the touchpad and the keyboard shortcut.

I meant a new thread / new blog just for testing :P Not using one of my current blogs :P

As for mouse, no can do, the button thats sorta busted in on my mothers laptop and Im using it while laying in bed since Im still sick.
 
Please close, hardware problem. Broken left mouse button on the laptop touch pad is broken and was doing multiple rapid clicks when I would click only once. Thanks Animal for helping me to narrowing down by being able to reproduce this with multi clicks which confirmed my thought that it was the broken button. With a change in the touch pad buttons sensitivity I have stopped the issue from occurring for now anyway :) So please feel free to close this thread!
