I started late (eighteen), but not for lack of interest or desire--I was a total drug-chemistry nerd, and I knew who had the goods, but was just too painfully shy to break into that circle. When I got to college, I swiftly made up for lost time, and already I've gone too far...
I've kept a meticulous list of this shit. Take a look:

Today, two months shy of 21, I'm an IV heroin and meth addict. I smoked weed every day from 19 until very recently. I'm dependent on caffeine and nicotine as well. Fun times.
I'm grateful that I waited to start my drug experimentation until I was knowledgeable about the substances and mature enough to deal with the consequences. But I sorta wish I hadn't gone so far, so fast; there's not much new for me to experience (except, curiously enough, cocaine--which I intend on buying and banging as a 21st birthday present to myself). And, of course, a substantial part of me wish I'd never picked up the needle. I've lied, stolen, hurt so many people to support my habit. But if I hadn't, I'd still be wondering...
