My friend was taking Escitalopram (LEXAPRO) 5mg once daily for 3 months (NO OTHER MEDICATIONS OTHER THAN CANNABIS) and had stopped taking his medication for 3 days. He's curious if he will be able to roll face again in a week or if he should wait a longer period of time. All answers are appreciated! He's also a Skinny Male 5'5'' who works outside in the heat from 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

Thanks, Downstem.

SSRIs can make long lasting changes to the serotonin system. There is no set amount of time for how long it takes for those changes to revert back to normal, but some literature says that it can be permanent in some cases.

If you truly need the medication, stopping taking it is not a good idea just to get high. If you truly just want to get high however, it's going to take a lot longer than a week to feel anything from the drug. More in the order of months (plural)

Even with the small dosage over such a short period of time? I'm stopping the drug because I've found what had caused me so much anxiety throughout my life and conquered it. If it will take months then I shall wait months.

Thank you so much for the response Folley.
