Hey guys.

I have been on subs for a little over a month, 16mg a day. This week I really fucked up and relapsed from tuesday to friday. I feel like crap right now. My last shot was at around 1030pm last night. I did not anticipate to wake up in withdrawal but it seems as though I did. I have on and off cold sweats, yawns, watery eyes and runny nose. Some restlessness as well. I tried to go out and ride my bike but I couldnt bear to. I had originally anticipated on taking my sub 1030pm tonight but I really do not want to waste this day and am having a hard time dealing with my current symptoms. However, occasionally there are points where all symptoms seem to go away and then come back again.. i am really paranoid about precipitated withdrawal. When can or should I take my sub given my current symptoms?

Thanks for any help!

I'm going to move this over to Other Drugs. Also you can check the search engine and find many threads like this to get an idea how long you should wait.

I generally try to wait 18 hours since my last use, though if you're real sick already and are already used to subs then you could probably take it about 12-14 hours after your last use.

If you're really worried about precipitated WD then I would recommend starting with a low dose, like 2mg, just to see how that makes you feel. If it starts making you feel a little better than it would be ok to take your normal dose.

Good luck man. It's ok too you know? We've all fucked up before and though you probably feel real down right now and feel real shitty it'll be ok and in a few days you'll be feeling a lot better again. Hang in there!

Jeez i didn't know you could even HAVE that severe of WD after just 4 days, even if you're a chronic user, I mean it's not outside the realm of imagination but still.

If you're already in WD and you've already been on subs for a while, AND it was from using for only 4 days, I think you should be fine in taking a small dose now but just try and ride it out as long as possible anyway because there's no way of knowing.

Would you rather get Prec. WD's and have to deal with that,
or
Bare with them a lil longer right now, knowing you're going to get relief in less than 12 hours?

Like carl said don't beat yourself up it happens my last switch over to heroin off sub was in January after my dad died. but im back on track now.
its no good to follow a time limit to see when you will be fine cause everybody's rate of metabolism varies so dramatically. listen to your body if your body is telling you im sick by giving you sore limbs, nausea, loss of appetite, sweats, sensitivity to cold, runny nose, anxiety, and restless but sore legs then its time for suboxone .These are physical cravings the mental cravings will come before the physical cravings so be sure your actually experiencing physical symptoms and its not just your addict mind bored saying lets get high.

Following a time limit is a bad idea cause for me I wait 2-4 hours after my shot of dope everytime to take 1-2 mgs sub which is all I ever need to hold me over in a day even if I did an 8ball of dope in a day 2mgs is plenty then I just start back in on my sub routine like normal with absolutely no precipitated withdrawls. But I got a friend who will wait almost 20 hours after doing the same amount of dope I did via the same ROA and he goes into instant precipitated withdrawals after 20 hours when I was fine waiting 2 hours. I have a fast metabolism so I can get away with that when most cannot. ive even played around even being dumb doing experiments on myself when I didn't give a fuck by shooting up dope and then walking into the pharmacy taking 2 mgs sub in front of the pharmacist and letting it dissolve to see what would happen and I never got any bad effects (dumb I know but I thought I was invincible at one point in time) it made me higher when I did this actually like a added high on top of the dope high but that's a small dose compared to yours man I usually need no more than 3mgs when starting sub after dope cause I split my dose up(when I was on once daily dosing I had to take a really high dose of 12mgs too cause of my fast metabolism would be sick all evening and night but as soon as I switched to split dosing I only needed 4mgs a day when the day before I needed 12mg) .
Once I get stabilised my favorite dosing schedule which works best for me is 0.3mgs -0.5mgs taken three times a day (every 6 hours, cause like I said I have a fast metabolism) 16mgs Is a huge dose leaving you at a big risk for precipitated withdrawl. I don't bother with anything above 2mgs as the high stops after about 4mgs and the higher you go after that the less effective the sub gets at giving euphoria and pain relief along with giving nasty side effects like constipation. I see no need to take 8 or more milligrams of sub to feel nothing but a slight ease in withdrawls and headaches/constipation when I could take 0.5mgs and get way higher like I just did some morphine and feeling no pain along with lots of energy and no nasty side effects
the chances of having precipitated withdrawals go down the lower the dose of sub that you take so keep that in mind this is why we encourage you to start small like 2mgs. I bet you could induct back into suboxone at a dose 8mgs or under its been known to happen.
its up to you you don't have to just my 2 cents;)
