Was there a emotional catalyst ,was it boredom ,was it just you could afford it and function so you went for it.

Did it grow from a group high on say saturday night to fri, sat and sun to week nights to finally solitary use daily at night post work ten finally all day.

Last step would be impaired functional life/job/social abilities.

opiates (oxycodone and / or hydromorphone) at night:

started at once every 1-2 weeks, then twice a week, 3-4 times a week. never got to the point of every day though.

i'd take them for fun, to alleviate boredom / stress / negative feelings / hopelessness / depression
but eventually the opiates would lead me to be more depressed the next day... funny how that works

also because I could afford it (low tolerance), never for actual pain management

at the end it did cut into my social life a little bit, I'd make up excuses not to hang out with friends
or at school the next day I sometimes wouldn't be feeling 100% and ended up not talking to people in class sometimes
