Hey everyone, I've been a long time lurker on bluelight and never had the presence of mind to sign up for an account. Probably because of all the dope up here in Portland, OR... But I just got out of a 15 day inpatient program and am detoxed and feel wonderful. I'm currently in the longest state of sobriety since I was 14 years old... and I'm at 20 days haha.
Now don't take the above post wrong, I absolutely love the wonderful world of Psychedelics and Narcotics. I was a self proclaimed psychonaut by age 17 and was hopeful to be a Pharmacy major at the Uniersity of Arizona because of my love to pharmaceuticals and chemical synthesis of tryptamines and phenethylamines. And I still have that same interest and love in all those chemicals today, I just think that after 9 straight years of heavy use, and what with me STILL not being a fully grown adult at 22, I am going to give this sobriety thing a chance for a decent amount of time. I will be back to my medical marijuana and craft brew sooner than other things, but for now I am seeing the world through clear eyes for the first time in at least 2 years since the dope habit kicked off, and I'm loving it so far.
In my opinion, the #1 thing that I did wrong with opiates was that I did no research of smack ever before I tried it. Every drug I've ever done I've pillaged the internet for information at places such as here, Erowid, and also love to read some good text directly from the government's studies on drugs themselves. And now that I'm clear headed, I'm just starting to do that with my DOC of the last 2 years, and boy is it shocking how little I knew. I think had I been more educated I wouldn't have gotten completely strung out, which we all know is no fun, but my strong will power and intelligence will hopefully keep me from falling back into it. Hope that didn't sound like I'm bragging, just confident in myself!
Anyway, I'm excited to post my knowledge from years past as well as pick up as much knowledge from more experienced members than myself, don't know why it took me so long to join up!
