Voices as in auditory hallucinations? Important clarifying question for sure.

For me, flualprazolam, or a ton of cannabis usually get the job done. Together it's a guarantee, but I also have to struggle to remain awake, whereas most people struggle to go to sleep which is weird. I consciously feel myself exerting effort to keep my eyes open every moment that they are, so sleeping is just a matter of no longer flexing that weird "cognitive muscle" or whatever it would be called to remain awake.

More so the voices telling you to do things you shouldnt be doing... but curious for your auditory halucination fix as well

Ah, yeah I don't have a voice of thought so the concept of voices telling me to do things sounds a lot like psychosis. For me cannabis always helps, and tripping by myself just meditating, personally.

I have had psychosis because and the best combo i found was zyprexa and clonazepam. Even when i took just clonazepam on it's own it helped bring me back down to earth enough to pass a psych evaluation. When i got out of the hospital i got 10mg's of zyprexa off my mom and took that with 1mg of clonaz and slept for like 12 hours. I was fine after waking up

Benzos helped me out of psychoses in the past, but antipsychotics consistently just made me a more demonic (prone to premeditated acts of violence that some might argue are closer to domestic terrorism because of hallucinations and delusions) and organized person. It took me from being an already lowkey dangerous schizoaffective dude to the type of guy who rolls around with cell phone jammers and EMPs to try to cover up evidence. When a friend/budding romantic interest noticed the change, he suggested that I drop the antipsychotic I was on at the time (aripiprazole), and I went back to my normal disorganized yet on-and-off psychotic state.

Something I've learned in my life is that it's very, exceptionally unlikely that somebody who actually cares about you would say something like "Hey man, you seem like you're experiencing psychosis, or an increase in psychosis like symptoms at least", so I listen when people say that, whether the hallucinations and/or delusions tell me I should or not. Luckily for me, I had virtually unfettered access to cannabis which is what made me normal again.

Aripiprazole is horrible. I was on that after i got taken off invega in the hospital. It was about as awful as invega was. It completyely killed my sex drive and i didt get it up in the whole year and a half or more that i was on it. I blame the low testosterone levels i had on invega and abilify. I am now on testosterone replacement therapy which is working wonders for the muscle gaining department and my sex drive is through the roof. I feel like a teenager again lol.

But i am on zyprexa now and i dont really get any side effects. But ya a combo of benzos and a antipsychotic that actually works like zyprexa should be standard treatment for psychosis. Or if you nee something really fast acting midazolam would do the trick.

Ambien,Remeron,Trazodone

Remeron made me want to sleep but unfortunately the munchies it gave me overrode my need for sleep. I would stay up all nght cooking and eating and at one point i ate raw sugar on it.

I have never tried ambien but i would probably like it because i quite like zopiclone. Ambien is not really popular ere and is only available as a sublingual tablet. It's not covered by insurance for me so thats one reason ive never tried it

Yes at first I caved in to drug induced hunger on remeron, but now I'm disciplined,at worse,Ill eat some fruit to stop the damn munchies, just usually physically exhausted, and won't get out of bed to rummage the kitchen

I caved like a motherfucker lol. I somehow didnt gain any weight on it but then again i was only in my 20's then. But eating that much all night was just not healthy so i got switched to a different med by my shrink. I smoked weed with the remeron alot of the time and damn that made the munchies even worse lol. Id end up cooking like a huge curry or something ton myself at like 3am lol.

They should give remeron to people suffering from anorexia. I see marketing potential there.

My experience exactly haha

Lunesta, Hydroxyzine, melatonin is good for a good 6-8 hours without too much grogginess

Only guaranteed way to knock me on my arse is 15-22.5mg zopiclone (2-3x 7.5mg tablets). Nitrazepam can get me there but usually requires 50mg+ if it's gonna work, sometimes it just doesn't.

i have no drug advice that you should take, but i'd say staying away from stuff that will keep a person up like stimulants in the evening so you can stay on a good sleep schedule, and also don't take drugs enough to have bad withdrawl symptoms is a good way not to have stress if hearing voices.

i honestly think some people just bring the voices upon themselves thinking too much so they will have a reason to medicate.. sometimes just general positive thinking can encourage voices to change... i don't think knocking yourself out with drugs is really going to keep the voices away forever. seems like it will just lead to more drug use... i'm not saying not to use drugs or that the OP should be able to control their voices. maybe they can't and it's a legit medical condition. even the drug addiction situation which i describe is a condition to be thought about and taken seriously.. i'd just suggest positive thought and kind of drown out the voices telling you to do negative stuff. or just realize it's a bad thought process that you don't need to listen to... maybe talk with a therapist too. therapy helps some people.

there are a lot of side effects to anti-psychotic drugs to be worried about, but if your schedule/drug intake with the voices gets too dangerous or really starts to feel like you are getting run down, you might want to try them out. they help balance some people out.... you may be better off just dealing with it though and occasionally needing to take a break with drug cocktails like you are. kind of unclear what you should do. just throwing out possibilities.
