Just bored and was wondering for occasional or habitual IV users what gauge do you use? I use the 30 Gauge short tipped...what made me post this thread was I went to get some and they only had the 28 Gauge(for some reason whenever this girl is at the counter they are out of the ones I like..) it's happened a few times, they carry the BD brand or the self-injectable allergy syryinge, which is long tipped...But anyway, was just trying to 'fix' and these damn 28 gauges...shit! Don't know if I'm dehydrated or something was wrong with that one...I have a few go to spots, and it just wasn't happening, ended up just getting another one and got it on the first try, and it was a spot I had never used before..but ya, I just REALLY can't stand long tipped ones, make me feel like I'm butchering my veins, which I probly am with them...
 
I used to use 25 or 28 with the 3 cc rigs which are sketchy to some people.

The regular 1 cc are 29 I think. Just depends on the brand.

I like a 27 ideally.
 
I'm kinda suprissed everyone is going with the longer neendles(well 2 people,lol), guese i'm just not use to them???? Usually have NO problem with the shorter ones and so far with these 28 ones I've missed a shot of Suboxone(i know I know, just a litttle bit though, you can tell when soon as you miss with that, stings like a bitch soon as you slip out) and yesterday a shot of MS CONTIN 100 two of the worse damn pills(well, ones a strip) to miss with. My hand seems better though, not worse from the MS Contin Shot so that is good I suppose...think I'm just inexperienced with them, as I said feels like I'm just piercing through the vein everytime and the damn things bend so easy when you take the top of with the BD brand. But I never miss, and all 3 times I've had misses have been with the longer ones...
 
I only use long tips.

I had an ex gf that had veins popping out because she was anorexic (literally, not just skinny). She could only use short tips. Even then it was easier to stick the needle straight in instead of at an angle like normal.
 
30g 1cc short.

I'll use longs if thats all i got, i tend to go through the vein with those and have to pull out a little more.
The shorts work too good..its scary

But no meant to pick up some today, forgot, so now I just have a pack of dull longs until after christmas...and D's your right the shorts do work so good it's scary, but reallly with the longs, I wouldn't be suprised if I fucked up a vein trying to register, cuz its been no go..I wish i was skinny and my veins just popped out, I swear when I see skinny guys and you can just see all their veins, I get jealous.
 
28 g shorts...all the pharmacies in my city have stopped selling the longs. used to be unable to hit without a longer tip, but now i find that shorts seem to do less damage somehow.
 
i always get the 31g, 1ml, short tip insulin syringes. i've used 30g, 29g, 27g, etc and i never really notice a difference. it's pretty easy for me to hit. i hate the long tips though, i'm skinny and my veins are usually above the surface and sticking out so i don't have to go very deep at all.
 
31 1cc short tips, but I dont really care. some guy sold me a dozen 27g long tips and they still worked so w/e

long tips are better for people who cant hit their veins as good, that's about it imo. I don't mind .5cc either, easier to carry around

What's the largest gauge you've had to use? The pharmacy only had 23 or 24g I don't recall.. All I know is it fucking sucked, however, I did hit first try and get to see a buncha dark ass blood rapidly filling the rig.
 
29 or 28g 1cc 12.7mm for methamphetamine, and heroin + cocaine, and other IV combos and IVing in major veins ( like crook of your arm)

31g, 1/3 cc shorts for heroin shots in the hands and wrists.


i actually used a 22g luer-lock syringe once because i could not find another syringe. so much of the shot was unable to be pushed into my veins because it got stuck in the luer lock part. and it left the BIGGEST fucking bruise god damn and it hurt like a bitch

insulin needles like the 31g are NOT meant to be used for IVing and 28g IV needles are better on the veins.

What's this about why is it any worse then a larger needle?
I have pretty superficial veins and always use 31 g rigs, is it fear of breaking or something?
Always freshies as well.

I know you bout ya shit laCster, that's why I ask.
I'm more an iv opiate and ket fan along with coke.
