I like uppers in a sense, but I do not do real uppers. Just a.d.d. medicine. I like adderall alot because its a good study drug.
You can accomplish amazing things on those.
I like downers, but downers dull you, and the adderall just set you on the "performance" that is awesome. But who can really controllably use speed? In fact that addiction would just suck, i wouldn't even go there. But caffine pills aren't enough. Adderall works good, but what else is there? Concerta sucks I hear, Ritilin is kinda old school isn't it?
Whats your fave upper?
For the record, adderall is a "real" upper. No, its not crystal meth, and thus its not as "hardcore" (read: harmful/addictive/destructive)... but don't think for a second that you're safe from addiction because its "medicine". Less addictive yes, but safe, no. Is controllable use possible? Hard to say... most amphetamine veterans would say no, from a long term perspective...
As far as the other pharm-grade uppers out there, concerta and ritalin are both methylphenidate-based substances and are mediocre by comparision to adderall, which is a combination of various amphetamine salts.
Dexedrine is pure dextroamphetamine (adderall is partially dextroamphetamine) and will be more effective and more fun, but is less widely available. Desoxyn is methamphetamine, but is rarely prescribed and is a far cry from crystallized methamphetamine. These are the only two meds that you will find more potent than adderall.
Careful/moderated usage will get you the most out of these drugs, especially if your goals are academic and not recreational. Tolerance is a bitch.

best way to study...
dont do drugs at all, as comprehension is a factor.. i dont care WHO you are, you do NOT retain what you have studied while under the influence of drugs/alcohol.[/B]
This does not apply to amphetamines. They will act as cognitive enhancers at reasonable doses and you will most certainly retain what you study. Otherwise, it would clearly invalidate prescribing them to children that have difficulty focusing.
That being said, I'll agree that in general, studying while under the influence of just about anything else is ineffective.
