enneagram is the model of interconnected human personality types, theres 9 different types and each have wings splitting them up further

influenced by early teachings of Gurdjieff, and supposedly can help you take a path to higher states of being

ive been reading about it alot recently and finding it interesting, i think a greater self-awareness cant be a bad thing, reading my types description was kinda freaky because it just explained my life and my possible future lol..

im pretty sure im type 4 (individualist/designer) and most likely wing 5 (bohemian) or 3 (the aristocrat)

short description:
The 4's false belief is that they are inherently defective, having no personal significance or identity of value, and that ultimately people will reject them because of it. In reaction to this, they latch onto whatever makes them different from others as their identity, they use moods to feel a sense of significane in their lives (because emotions & feelings are signals of significance), and they do a push-pull in relationships because they desire acceptance/love/admiration which gives them value but also fear being found out as defective & worthless. Hence, shame & envy become major problematic feelings with them.

Type Four with a Five Wing:
Type Five is associated with detached observation, so the 4w5 is a more sedate and contemplative version of the 4w3. 4w5s find it easier to get lost within their own heads, and may identify themselves as dreamers or idealists. They are less likely to flaunt their individuality to others, and in fact, may often be oblivious to other people because they spend so much time in their heads.
4w5s possess a sense of emptiness due to their detached Five wing.

do urself a favor and take the test (http://www.eclecticenergies.com/enneagram/dotest.php) ;d

tell me ur type and if you think its all bs or you like it...

if you read the description of the most possible types after the test, its possible you will gravitate towards one

i think its semi liberating to know, so you can find how to overcome your flaws

i asked my mom about it today and she thinks she knows the type of everyone in our family

if you think your a type 4 (individualist/artist/romantic), watch this vid on how to be happy lol, he does the best impression in it, he has one for every type as well i think

Mmm...5 wing 9 (or is it wing 4...or 1? :P).
Being an INTP, I fit 5 to a tee...and I guess my politics are congruent with the wing result of "reformer", my conflict aversion with "peacemaker", my eccentric speculation with "creative individualist.

I dunno. This typology fails to speak to me. Am I missing something?

i think its interesting to know your personalities habits, so you have the option of changing your course of action when you notice the wheels turning in that direction

i feel a bit less shame knowing that there are other people out there who think similarly to me

and the possibility for growth towards a secure attachment style rather than insecure, or however higher levels of consciousness express themself

i know when i read my description, it rung alot of bells about me, and it was like everything was starting to fit together or make sense.

but it isn't like that for everyone, it can take a while to find what your true character is.

it isn't necessarily just categorising people saying "you do this, you do that", but can help to make you more aware of when you are just following the motions of the story you have created.

Number nine, number nine, number nine, number nine.

We're all a little bit of each I think, and it probably varies from day to day and with the circumstances.

I think I got a 3 a few years ago, but I couldbe remembering wrong. This time I got a 5. I lke the MBTI better and I am an INTP there.

5w4
4w3

I also am an INTP. So the 5w4 makes a fair bit of sense. But I would have thought self-preservation not sexual. I do prefer the type description for INTP feel it better speaks to my ideoscynracies.

Is this a dumb down version of that other test? The one there was a huge thread on about a year ago?

Sometimes these things are bollocks, because your answers don't reflect the truth.. living as the subjective beings we are.. we answer in ways we perceive to be us or wish to be us.. not what we actually are..

The answers you give will also change depending on the mood your in, although apparently not straying too far.

Because these questions have no context you assume what the context is.. Almost every question is leaving me wondering: In what context?

Out of interest and curiosity.. What did / would you answer to this: "When making a decision, I often ask myself "which option will yield the maximum enjoyment?". and what real world scenarios did you associate it with? I mean.. are we talking about what to do with the gossip we just heard from a friend? The plan of where to go for the weekend? What I should say to my boss as to why I can't come into work today?

I am more sentimental than others.

How would you ever know the true answer to this?

And again:

Change - whether to a new job or new school, makes me more anxious than it does most people.

What does this mean!?

I'm pretty tough.

It's hard to stay passionate and focused.

On??

I'll stop.

I tend to either comply completely or to rebel.

Surely No and Partly = the same thing?

Finished.. I got 9.. Reading through.. It fits in most, doesn't in others.. the same as every other one..

We're all a little of each I think, and it probably varies from day to day and with the circumstances.

Welcome to the refurbished star sign.
