When do we stop hiding in our post adolescence haze
stop saying "just one more party" or
thinking about what we're gonna do once we get our shit together...
treating the now as some unimportant moment in time
and stop hoping that tomorrow brings a brighter day
start living for the future,
accepting things and people for not only who they are but what they stand for,
letting those close to us know how we feel about them and
let those who don't know how they affect us just how they do...


Most of all, When are we going to stop kidding ourselves???

ok. right after this beer is finished.
growing old is mandatory, growing up is not. Screw tomorrow. Screw yesterday. shit is never together...it's all a big ladder leading to the old dirt bed and each step is just a reason to kill more time and forget that your inevitable death is pending. I do like the last three lines though and obviously the last.
I believe most people want to run from their shells...I think it just might be a slow process for all of us. I know it's a slow process for myself.
In the meantime I do hope there are more parties
