ok - well, i'm in a band called "lo-fi deluxe", so ever since we formed, all my friends have used deluxe as a sort of sur-nick-name (or a nick-surname) for me...
i was first called hoss (a spontaneous acid soaked decision by one of my friends during a resticted-areas casino moment a few years ago), but then became buck after a night tripping at the beach...
i'd been having a great night, when we decided to adventure out on this rock platform... running around the rocks, i eventually stepped out onto what i thought was a rock, but was actually just a 2m gap posing as a visual
so, i fell down this mini-cliff and cut open my knee quite badly, as well as some cut toes and swollen jaw, etc... i obviously wasn't happy, and tried to assemble the rest of the crew to get back inside our house... a task which i was noticably keen to get underway, as i was starting to freak out quite a bit...
a few days later we were all out rolling, and a some of my friends were recounting the story to the rest of the crew... when suddenely one of my more smaked out friends sprung forth from his doped out slumber and offerred
"well, you're hardly Buck, the mother nature's son, are you?"
to which another friend replied
"no - he's buck deluxe"
and it's stuck ever since.
Has anybody else found that these nickname stories have a rather "you had to be there" quality to them? I'm thinking mine's sufferring from a bit o' that...
