What's the story behind your nickname - part III

I needed to stop lurking and post something which meant something to me but I was stoned. I got para coz i knew ppl using the board so I flicked thru some catalog and borrowed the part number to some sony headphones

Ah I used to be a huge fan of the Newcastle Breakers - a soccer team that as we regularly chanted, had the ability to 'walk on water' but weren't actually very good in reality.. ;)

My nickname came from my time supporting them and going to all the matches being one of the key rowdies and trolling soccer chatboards etc..

.. but as a happy coincidence i love my breaks so it's all good :)

my great aunt always called me "Blossom" or "Bloss"... Ive always been Bloss to her, and it started rubbing off on the rest of my family, and then onto my friend who heard my family say it, and then onto the friends who heards the friends say it...

it kinda died with the friends tho in about year 8 when "Struth" came into existance...

And then was resurrected one day randomly with another bunch of friends. we were talking abou that old tv show "Blossom" and for some reason, i got renamed...

i love it tho... it just keeps coming back to me!

back when i was 13 me and my friend where in class trying to think of aliases in case we ever started rapping.

he chose optik method, i chose preacha

unfortunately, i've become so used to this nick i've just kept it. sad thing is people around my area occasionally greet me by saying "HEY PREACH" seriously.

^^^ are you a superhero? ;)

Fuck me, we were so on the same page then :)

Surely my name is naught more than a representation of my personality. It also happens to be the song I was listening to at the time of registration. Wow, I can join the legions of people with lame reasons for their names, yay!

^ haha We have bluelight sister names. Although you're track one and I'm track two. So does that mean you win?

[And I'm referring to Unwritten Law - Elva... even if that wasn't the album you were listening to at the time of your christening. ;)]

The punk part obviously comes from my love of punk music and the affiliation I feel with said scene. The lost part kind of descibes how I was feeling at the time... A year and a half out of high school, lots of ideals and no way to apply them to a life that involved actually making a living. Just working shitty part time jobs and wondering what the fuck I was going to do with the next 40 or so years of my life...

The 5545 part comes from my first experiences with internet chatting. Every single fucking nickname I could think of was taken so I hit the keyboard a few times and Hay5545 came out thus becoming my nickname for a long time....

"I'm in love with"... :)

I have a few minutes to kill and Bluelight is open, so I'll bite on this thread after staying away from it for as long as humanly possible.

A fair while ago, when I was single, I was heading out to a party (Advent*Jah, maybe, I can't remember) with my friends. They were making fun of my being on the prowl, and asking me what kind of girl I was looking for.

I told them about my minimum height requirement (at the time, 5'10", now 6' even), and they thought that was really funny. They were joking about me getting a T-shirt with a big white line on it saying "You must be taller than this line to go on this ride."

My friend Mary asked, "would that make him the Joellercoaster?" and it stuck. Now there are people who call me that who knew me well before they, or I, got online :(

My name:

I was at the beach surfing with a school group and they bought us some food for lunch on the last day. They were about to throw out a whole chicken which had plenty of meat left on it so I picked it up and ate the meat straight from the chicken while squatting on the beach and looking left and right at what the waves were like. The product: A caveman eating its kill.

I decided to add the Cpt. caus hes pretty cool.

There ya go, some of my mates actually call me Caveman/Cave.

^ Cheers :) Never did get around to buying that album, but a few friends have it... *ponders ways to spend next pay*...

Well,

A long long time ago in a galaxy......

shit it was this galaxy...

people used to rub my belly and ask for a bickie so I became the ravebuddha, rub my belly and get something other than luck.:)

sierra is a nick i've had for aaaages. originally, yes, it was mostly influenced by all those sierra games of the late 80s early 90s or whenever. it was also cuz my brother was all wanting to be a fighter pilot at that time (i was 14 when i started using this nick, i'm now 22)... and i thought sierra was the coolest sounding name in that alphabet the military use.

i've changed my nick many times since then, but now i'm reclaiming it :)
