I wondered for a long time why people enjoy doing benzos? I've tried xanax many times, and klonopin a few times, too and all it did was make me forget the entire night. I don't seem to be able to remember any "good" feelings or any highness, I just remember like 30 seconds from one point of the night, then i remember 30 seconds of a different part of the night. And EVERY time I do benzos, my friends always tell me the retarded shit I do or say while on them.

What's the point? :p

Hi GAD5, the Anonymous Posting Forum is for those who wish to keep their identities hidden regarding personally sensitive questions.

I'm going to send this to Basic Drug Discussion but please note that it may get closed due to the enormous amount of information we have regarding benzo usage here on BL.

Some people take them because they have anxiety, muscle spasms, trouble sleeping, etc..
Some people take them because they 'feel' good. [not like a dopamine euphoria; rather a relaxation euphoria]
Some people take them because they black out
Some people take them because they can't stop
Some people take them because they mix well with other drugs in a manner similar to potentiation
Some people take them because they are coming down from stimulants
Some people just take random pills to get fucked up...

I'm sure there are other reasons.

- I personally can't sleep well with out them; they aren't the solution to the problem long term but...

^ this

i never used to see the recreational appeal, however the afterglow is pretty nice. plus they combine well with some things, mxe is pretty smooth on valium

if you're forgetting the entire night i recommend taking less, sometimes less is more with things like this. high doses of valium are shit for rec value, too sloppy with memory loss, i do like the relaxation of a low dose though

if you take them and dont get a high from them, but still black out, you are taking too much . Take a smaller dose .

Agreed all of the above, they are great for anxiety and sleep, I'm on the tail end of a taper but this time around I was enjoying the bigger doses where I would be virtually unable to stay awake, just sooooo relaxed and care free. Ive also taken them in the past to enhance alcohol, not clever I know but I wasn't in a good place at the time.

Personally I think benzos are the "wolf in sheep's clothing" of the drug world, they seem to benign but there is am much darker side if you get into heavy daily use.

I do benzos for a different reason I do the opies. Opies give a buzz, body high, music euphoria, etc. I take benzos for the calmness and serenity it gives me. 2 mg Xanax and plop down on the couch and watch a documentary or Discovery channel for an hour and then nod off for an hour, that is so relaxing. It's really not the same sort of experience as an opiate high. Most people seem to prefer one or the other , I like both.

Very subjective thread,

Please use the search for these kind of questions. There is a plethora of info available on here.
