🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

I started watching a remake of The Black Hole.
It had a great and funny part in the beginning but I'm struggling to finish it because they've got a frikkin guy in a helicopter, flying around the black hole recording it for the news to broadcast, and I'm just like uuuhhh....that's, not how that works...So I'm gonna smoke a bowl and then knock out the last half hour of it.

The Omega Man (1971)

I rented it once back in the day when Netflix was a dvd service. Bought it on a whim at Half Price the other night while my wife was looking for a book. I must say I’m very satisfied. Of the three Last Man on Earth films, this one is by far my favorite. Then I am Legend. Then the original Vincent Price adaptation which I always found a bit cheese.

Classic 70s film. Love the bit where Heston is watching Woodstock in a theater. The 70s were such a great time for film.

I loved the and have a copy somewhere of, I Am Legend, it was great! I admit that the ending wasn't as good as ( I don't know if the writer or writers changed and I am not sure if they used a standard, (use to be, 3 act 100-150+ pages screenplay, for many films.

I liked the beginning act( opening and early plot establishing scenes) The main act( the plot of the movie) was great also, but what I would guess to be The third act( was really good, but the denouement, was less than what I would have liked, still good, but it trailed off for me with all the action and too much towards the end.( did the director try too hard?) But Great movie.

If I am a little off, it has literally been about 3 decades since I took a college film course. Also, my copy on dvd was inherited by me after a very very close relative died and I am having issues even watching it. I pointed it out, it was like $5 new. After Christmas sale, when streaming and such were really taking off.
DVDS were obsolete and blu-rays were available easily at stores.

I hate that, record stores and hard copies of movies are not everywhere. I like to have the movie( a dvd or blu-ray) No point of going 4k. My out of date TV( which I use for movies only.) would not even come close to being able to giving any added value or even be able to play them. ( besides overall, movies are going downhill fast.) Bigger budgets, mindless super hero movies. Even bigger morons as actors, then even in the past.

The, days of rock stars and movie stars are going, going.......

Overall, I just loved the movie, and the very ending( A promise of hope?), I am conflicted over that. What is your opinion( without spoiling the very ending).
I became very critical of movies, even ones I like. ( a 4 hour once a week film class can do that to you.) Also taking drama courses and having to see college productions of various plays and having to give analysis on it.

I haven't seen it in a long time, but I want to watch it again. But, I have trouble, because of what was stated earlier.

I thought the end of I am legend was alright, it tracked with following The Omega Man. There's an alternate ending on the blu-ray, maybe the dvd as a bonus if you can find it.

I liked The Omega Man better since the monsters were more human. Less of a simple zombie flick like I am Legend.

I loved Welcome to Derry. First few episodes were a little iffy with the gratuitous cgi choices but it gets better and better as the show goes on. Definitely recommend if you're into that type of thing.

Rewatching stranger things as I had forgotten most of it and the new shit is coming out.

Free will has nothing to do with it btw

Only that the first 3 episodes are about it so I stopped trying to watch the earlier ones

Underground Breath (2024)

harkoning kin of subversive movies that would be banned in most countries, a swiss director details their process of truly fucked and deviant recordings. not for the faint of heart. the avatar thumbnail appeared in green olde english font and the shakespearian pose of squatting over a skull, holding a skull in a tryptich of three seperate poses by nude women who is also featured in the movie. there it was cast against more mainstream new releases , really was hoping to get a live action metalacolypse soundtracked against a cast that resembled band broadcast. nope.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (1999)

My parents and sister visited yesterday for Xmas, and my sister decided to stay up and watch maybe 30 minutes of a movie I picked. Normally she bails pretty quickly. But an hour and a half into this one, and she asked how much longer; I said "You wana see how it ends don't ya?" Anyhow, she finished the film and in her words, "Interesting." Hah. High marks from the most apathetic being I've ever met in life lol.

Great film, and very pertinent to the modern times.

The Jester 2 (2025)

When teen magician Max crosses paths with the sinister Jester on Halloween night, she must outsmart a supernatural killer whose magic is all too real and whose tricks always end up in blood.
