Film What's the Last Film You Saw? v. Tell Us What You Thought!

Tell us what you thought of it, just saying you saw a movie isn't much of a conversation piece.

I haven't seen A Quiet Place, it's on my watchlist on Amazon. Was it good?

It was fairly unique, unless you've seen The Silence on Netflix. Similar in the "being hunted by sound" paradigm. A Quiet Place is by a wide margin the better film. A Quiet Place is definitely worth watching if you enjoy tension in a horror movie without much in the way of gore...

I tried to watch the extended version of The Abyss as I found the dvd at my folks house while sitting for them. Couldn’t finish it. Made me realize just how boring James Cameron’s films generally are. As a teen I loved them. As a thoughtful adult... they’re boring, no depth (no pun intended lol). Watched Aliens a few months ago for a third time and I was like wtf, this doesn’t hold a candle to Ridley Scott’s classic film.

Also watched Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle again. Classic stoner film. Not that great tho. It has its moments I guess. Pineapple Express and other Seth Rogan films are much funnier.

Mandy. A psychedelic masterpiece. The use of colors and sounds deserves a special nod. 5/5

"They lived in a world of pain"

"But the weirdest thing about that was"

"That they fucking loved it"

‘Mandy’ is one of my favorite movies of all time!!! Nicolas Cage was a savage! That was one of his best performances ever! When you watch that movie, it makes you feel like you’re on LSD. It’s absolutely a masterpiece. Dude, when he was drinking and crying hysterically on the toilet. 🤣

And I’m always a fan of someone beating the shit out of demons.

One-Eyed Jacks (1961) had some luscious shots of the ocean. Josefina Yolanda Pellicer López de Llergo was hauntingly beautiful as his random yet aptly timed love affair. Apparently she committed suicide at the age of 30, 3 years after the film opened.

I have to disagree with you.

I like them both, for different reasons.

Aliens is the PERFECT action movie. The pacing, the subtext and allegory, and the absolute badassery make it one of my all time favourites. Gotta get the director's cut, though. Whoever cut the scene with the motion-activated guns in the hallway for the theatrical release should be shot out an airlock, and the story works better as a whole when you know about Ripley's daughter.

There was a ‘Mandy’ Party Box when the movie first came out. I think it’s sold out on the original site, but people are selling it on EBay. You get the Cheddar Goblin mac n’ cheese! That would be fun to eat while watching the film. That commercial was so trippy!

Fair enough, it is a good action movie. But I’m disappointed by a lot of his other movies.
