Watched Garden State the other night; Zack Braff's directorial debut. Really enjoyed it. Loved the overall sense of melancholy mixed in with subtle comedy. It's the first thing I've seen Zack Braff in other than Scrubs, and it's a great display of what he's capable of, acting wise as well as writing and directing. 8/10.

Intouchables

Superb film. Really enjoyable, both extremely funny and touching at the same time. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Adaptation (2002)

Really interesting film. I initally felt like the last half hour was a bit of a let down. Then I read the thread about this film on BL and it was brought up that the movie shifted when his brother started helping him write the script. That gave me a different perspective on the ending and I found it to be a great movie. The story was unique, interesting, and rather thought provoking. Great acting by the whole cast, but especially by Chris Cooper. His character really stood out.

The Imposter (2012)

Really intriguing documentary. From how the film presents itself, I'd like to say I have an opinion of what really happened, but of course I am only seeing what the film shows me, so it would be completely unfair and unjustifiable for me to actually have a solid opinion or judgement on the truths.

star wars episode 1 on 1080. clarity was crazy good, better than the movies. no, i didn't buy the blurays, GL has enough of my cash. i was amazed at how flawlessly it streamed wirelessly from my computer to my ps3.

eps2&3

got nothing against hayden christensen, but i still would have preferred the part in the hands of calculon. every other line is "I am feeling *this/that* emotion", and no one does that bit like calculon.

Deadfall

A thriller that follows two siblings who decide to fend for themselves in the wake of a botched casino heist, and their unlikely reunion during another family's Thanksgiving celebration.

Starring Eric Bana (Hanna) and Olivia Wilde (House) and Jax from sons of anarchy. Was aight.

^ I saw that one recently, too. I'm not sure what you expected, but I had heard good things about it and ended up being disappointed. The laughs are few and far between and, like you said, it's very formulaic. I'm not a Seth McFarlene fan (although, I do like American Dad) so I guess I should have expected as much.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead - Solid. Released 50 years after 12 Angry Men, Sidney Lumet's final film is pretty much everything you've come to expect from him: creative storytelling, gripping emotional drama, and fantastic performances from the whole cast. My few complaints were relatively minimal and overshadowed by the fact that Marissa Tomei shows her boobs on a couple occasions. 8/10

Time Crimes - A Spanish sci-fi thriller about a guy who accidentally goes back in time and has to re-enact the circumstances of his accidental time travel to avoid causing a paradox. It's a bit like the Australian movie Triangle, but not quite as good (imo). As with all Time Travel movies, there are some logical inconsistencies, but I didn't notice anything too glaring. It's well-shot and decently acted...also, boobs. 6/10

Harold and Maude (1971)

Not at all what I was expecting, but an interesting film nevertheless. Worth the viewing and will have to watch again. :) I liked the subtle stuff, like Maude not having a license or even owning a car. ;)

I love Harold and Maude!

Just saw Les Miserables, very emotionally moving. I had never seen or read about the play/book. I really liked Hugh Jackman's performance, very different from what I've seen.
