Film What's the Last Film You Saw? v. Tell Us What You Thought!

I haven't seen it yet to give my opinion, but did you have high expectations for the movie? Or at least expected it to be decent/scary/interesting? Seems like L2R thought it was going to be rather crappy and was surprised when it turned out to be better than crap.

Last movie I saw was City of God (Cidade de Deus). It was a good movie, but I don't understand why it's rated as high as it is on IMDB. It reminded me of another movie, Shottas, which actually came out the same year as City of God (2002), but it's not nearly as highly-regarded or talked about.

I'm not really sure why I didn't like it too much, maybe I was expecting more of a straight out horror movie without any humour or the group being under observation from a control room, I seem to be the odd one out here who didn't enjoy it much, maybe I watched in a weird mood or got distracted a bit I can't remember. Not really interested in giving it another go tho. Obviously alot of people really liked it.

I did like city of god tho, I enjoyed that.

Last movie I saw was 'fire with fire' with Bruce Willis and Josh Duhamel.

It was ok, nothing special, but kept my interest enough to watch it through, altho the end fire scenes and explosions were pretty crap. 5.5/10.

from the message boards of imdb regarding 'the cabin in the woods'.

Chernobyl Diaries.. I thought it was a terrible movie.. Glad I didn't waste my $ going to the theatre to see it..

Rating: 0/5

the avengers was horrible.
but any movie that stars richard jenkins is instantly elevated.

Spoilers:

Seen End of watch yesterday I enjoyed it even with the over glorifying of the LAPD (Cops saving children frm a burning house, come on)and the super dooper coincidences that are a bit much.

Kind of like when in Training day when the wallet that Ethen hawke finds eventually saves his life.

The Good Son (1993)

Excellent acting by all, in my opinion, in an extremely overlooked film. Not the cute little boy from those early 90s "oops, left the child behind!" films. ;) Very, very evil child depicted here by Macaulay Culkin along with a very, very cute young Elijah Wood. ;) Despite having seen this film before, I forgot about the choice Susan had to make... Tearjerker, even with the knowledge of the film's events. :'(

Trainspotting:

Amazing film with a great soundtrack. It's basically about a group of friends, most of which are addicted to heroin or become addicted to it. It follows the main characters struggle to come clean and kick the addiction while attempting to deal with the real world again.

This first video is a scene from it:

The next is the trailer:

the amazing spider-man.

not different enough from the raimi films to warrant a re-tooling which covers the original story AGAIN. meh.

what's with the obssession with origin stories? why can't cinema have any ambiguity or mystery any more? do audiences really need to be spoon fed context and exposition every fkn time? it is especially redundant in stories everyone already bloody knows. /monday morning rant

Lots of wtf moments, one of the better films I've seen of late.

Once you've watched it you have to realise that some cases are based upon true cases that happened in Paris.
Unbelievable for some, shame they don't tell you which one's.
NSFW:
The only thing I approach the film is that they don't tell you the outcome of them.

Steve McQueen's second feature of sex-addiction, self-harm and cheap thrills in New York is fluid, rigorous, serious cinema
Shame, petty good as well this one.

Thanks. Yeah I didnt mind shame I guess, was worth a watch.

You can add the youtube vids here now you know, just like you posted that pic for shame for you put the url of the video between [ video ]blahblah.url[ /video ] (without the spaces) just incase you didn't know, makes it easy to watch on here and looks good :)

Thanks but I don't like the video tag, it slows the loading of the page massively for me anyways and I ain't on a slow pc ;).

really? that's interesting, I havent noticed that yet. My adsl isnt the fastest, but my mac is pretty new. I guess with lots of them on a page I might notice it sometime. Fair enough.
