Whats the big dealio with this Mice Pace caper

Right, its been a pretty loooooooong time since I've had much to say around these parts so I pick this as my returning topic. Maybe its already been covered, I dunno.

My question is how many people on here have been swept away with the Myspace (Mice Pace as I like to refer to it as) phenomenon? Who here has a Myspace? I'll admit I've got one now and surely I'm one of the last on the planet to do so but I'm yet to be struck by the addiction that many others have.
Is this just another flash in the pan? Will it be dead in a year or 2?

Maybe peeps can post their Myspace thingo on here so the big lovey dovey community that is Bluelight can unite through Myspace too =D lol

I weak return I know :(

i only dig myspace for the music
otherwise..........it's a festering hive of villainry

how can a festering hive of villainry be a bad thing? I'm yet to make a decision on it all.
I see that its handy to keep up to date with various artists and stuff but yeah I'm still not seeing the adictive side of it.

its livejournal without having to make posts.
its a decent social tool, plus finding people from high school is pretty easy
but the downside is the mass orgy of fuckwits that reside on myspace

myspacedeaths.com is the only interesting to have come out of it

"mass orgy of fuckwits". Can we add to that wannabe dj's and promoters? Seems like promoters with nothing better to do trawl through myspace profiles finding people who may fit their target audience and join up as their friend and bombard them with bullshit about the night they run.
I guess its a pretty strong marketing tool.

How many peeps here have a myspace? Preacha surely you have one spruiking the wares of the greater south east? :D

ahahahaha, unfortunately no, but one of the best features of myspace is the ability to search for people based on which school they went to

everyone i used to hang out with has either formed a nu-metal/emo band or had a kid

Not to mention it's the most poorly developed piece of Internet wizardry ever created. Plus, it hardly contains each and every school that you so refer to.

just a murdoch/nsa project filled with 15 year old emo fuckers. over it after a month. as preacha said it's only good for discovering new artists to listen to and pretending you then know said artists ;)

what has it taught me?

that depression is apparently a fashion statement these days (with a huge following).
hot girls listen to shit music.
country christian rock bands think you'll be interested in their music even though they discovered your link/page via a techno artist's.

and you would be correct, as the only information myspace has on you is the information that you make available

welcome to the internet THR

You're obviously not the expert that you think you are as you select the school from a list. If your school does not exist in that list then you aren't able to select it. That aside, it's bound to implode on itself sooner or later because it's just very poorly constructed.

Yeah I couldn't find my old high school and it doesn't seem to let you just enter it in and apparantly The School Of Hard Knocks doesn't exist.
So do peeeeeple on here actually actively engage in Myspace or has it run its course with most here? I'm technologically retarded when it comes to keeping up with this sort of thing.
Does Dandy/Endevour Hills have a Myspace Preacha? Maybe something you could work on now that The Greater City Of Dandenong is now "The City Of Opportunity" :D Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

i was gonna post a topic on the same thing.

i dont get it.
i really dont get it.
i had to get one so i was able to log ontot my cousins my space and view her photos, and although it is a good place to store pictures (as an altenative to photobucket) ive got all these weird people asking me if they can be my friend. all weird old guys.
its freaky and i dont like it.

Maybe they should run an advertising campaign:
"Are you 40+ years old and finding it hard to meet school girls?"

What the hell do people do on myspace?

It's a great tool for a 'What not to do' manual on web design too. One day there will be a coffee table book about Myspace being the epitome of why most people should be kept away from anything related to design.

I love how every guy on there's avatar is either gangsta rappa or is shirtless. It's hilarious.

I only have a myspace because some retard used my email address and so i 'appropriated' it. He was blatantly using it to pick up. The choice of music and shows on there was horrendous and it was covered in lttle love hearts everywhere. Now that it has been sanitised for musical tastes and all the Malaysian muslim girls that this boy was trying to pick up that were on the friends list have shunned me it just sits there very sad and desolately unused...

I don't get myspace either.

I joined up ages ago to be one of the cool kids, but I never got past the crapness and uselessness of it all.

I think my addiction to livejournal and umpteen messageboards is enough online geekery for me thanks... :)

It's about as likely that I'll ever start a Myspace page as it is me voting liberal next election. The one time I've used Myspace was to look up my old high school and laugh at anyone lame enough to have a Myspace page.

One of the pages I found was for one of my buddys' little emo brother. On it he described how he hated going to the beach because he didn't like getting sandy. Which is funny because I remember bodyboarding with him at least twice a week before he turned into a whiney little pussy.

I don't even bother using Myspace for music. If a band's not going to keep an up to date website then I'm not going to keep up to date with them.

I have a myspace cos my best mate sort of wanted me to do it wit her & she did most of it for me.. Havent ever used mine tho, not really interested.. If i one day decided to use it id block it so only mates could see it..
Having random people youve never met writing 'omg ur soo hot riight now' because of some photo that took 4 hours to get right or people who dont know you saying how cool and totaly awesome you are!! LOL! its a bit too superficial for my liking..

When we first signed up i remember us looking thru random peoples myspace pages & just rolling on the floor, crying with laughter!! Its funny as fuck how up themselves people can be..

Myspace is so full of shit!8)
Im sure some people on there arent overboards or fuckwits but the majority are so think il just stick with bluelight:)

yes and every 2nd girl has a playboy bunny background or sparkly shit and a pic of the slut (paris hilton)... and what's the point of creating what is essentially a "hey look at me" page and then making it private?8)
