Whats the best style of dance music?

Maybe its not the best music to dance to, but I love minimal techno/neotrance. Many of the tunes are so trancey that not all hope has been lost in trance, at least for me. I also like techhouse, progressive house, older psytrance.

Detroit and european techno and electro.....

when I say "electro", I don't mean electro-house:X

I like minimal, electro, and fidget.
The sub genres get me really confused though. I guess the electro i like is electro house stuff like fukkk offf, bloody beetroots, blatta & inesha etc.
but I love minimal and lately ive really been getting into fidget. I need more artists though lol

heh-heh, each to their own.....personally I love all music and do truly believe it's the path to god consciousness (hippy alert!!!!)...however I am old, past my sell by date and have come from disco (nod to vegan - chic / sylvester and yes, even the funkin' beegees), all the way through techno (detroit / minimal / brum) to Deephouse, which is where I now reside....I also enjoy a good dose of hip hop and damned deep rap......light house is the way forward though ;)x

what I live for, but among my mates its either techno or drum and bass, opposing camps always trying to say theirs is better :p a mate put it into really good words, can't remember now, went through loads of different genres and when you play them, but I do remember it ending 'but techno is what you live for' :D

i just love squelchy acid music, tis the best sound, sometimes its a particular style, but sometimes is climbs into a league of its own Rephlex for life <3

Love a bit of Brain Dance ;)

One of my favourite DJs came out with .....
"techno - why bother with anything else?" ;)

There is also HARD STYLE : check it out: Innocent Try and make it past the voice in the beginning I promise its intense.

This one is better, get through the beginning it builds up to a great synth corus with intense base: Sunblast

I recommended hardstyle on the first page, but it's not very popular around these parts. Perfect for dancing though. 4 to the floor and heavy bass :)

Nice too see some hardstyle fans :)

Drum and Bass imo is the best 'electronic' music but i wouldn't really call it dance music, if not then Hard House would have to be me fave :D

Depends on the year for me.

89-91 was great for acid house
90-93 was great for techno
91-94 was great for breakbeat
92-96 was great for trance
93-96 was great for hardcore/gabber

The only new electronic music I can really get into is dubstep. I still go out and enjoy most EDM but i'm not really into the new stuff and rarely find myself wanting to buy any of it.

Armin keeps topping the DJ Polls so does that make Trance the best??
Seriously tho I am surprised that Trance is so popular around world, not many people I know listen to it.

For actual DANCING Trance is not bad with all the breakdowns but the beat can be fast for some.
Psytrance is amazing when done right.
Breakbeats for a more broken HipHop-style of groove, Dubstep also to a certain extent... and GlitchHop! < f**king cool ish
Electro-House for going mental and headbanging without guitars. Party music.
Prog-House is also amazing when done right but to me it's more of a "relaxing" form of "dance" music, like Minimal or IDM/Ambient.
Hardtrance/Hardstyle - great energy fun to dance to, can get too much after extended periods.
Drum'N'Bass- so good, so unique but one of the more difficult styles for dancing.

The best: Tech House
