Cocaine What's that black liquid that sometimes fills up cocaine users mouths..?

I get this when I'm on MDMA/similar. It's horrible...Gets all over my gums, teeth and lips, and it's more of a paste. I also pull out whole furballs and clumps of material from my mouth. It's as though my mouth is so dry it's actually full of god knows what....hair, wool, cotten. Makes me look like a dead person.

I think it's what happens if you have a completely dry mouth for hours on end...But I have no idea why saliva turns into a thick black paste.

Pretty sure what you're talking about is just increased bacteria growth from having a dry mouth. I had this something awful last night when I was trying to sleep after a bit of a speed binge; my tongue and gums felt swollen and I could feel canker sores forming on my tongue. I've never gotten a furball though lol

btw anyone know what lavage fluid is? I've been doing some mad googling cause im probably OCD.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8249885

A bronchoalveolar lavage is actually a medical procedure done for diagnostic purposes. Fluid is circulated into the lungs and then recollected, and recollected 'lavage fluid' is used to diagnose or assess illness. I've seen them performed, it's a really nasty and uncomfortable procedure for patients but incredibly useful, medically speaking.

The researchers in the above articles recovered the carbon by performing bronchoalveolar lavage procedures on individuals who smoked crack. Unless a crack smoker's lungs were somehow filled with liquid to the point that they were coughing up a carbon/liquid mixture on their own, I don't see how it could come from the lungs.

Perhaps the carbon is just collected around the throat/mouth as the crack is inhaled and mixes with saliva forming the black liquid?

I wonder if this happens with crack smokers, surely not with heroin

My BFF works in a woman's shelter mostly occupied by washed up crack addicts, so she sees a lot of the long term damage (some utterly horrific and disturbing things I hear :|) so I asked her if she had ever come accross someone with something similar. She mentioned something called cracklung and coughing up black-ish mucus.

On a tangent- if you judge by the amount of effort put into this, and television trivia gameshows, you might be better off asking a Fifth Grade science class to help you, instead of a doctor. Ha.

lol I used cocaine and freebase a lot and I never got this.... its probably blood cuz u snort always the same hole or I dont know maybe ur cocaine is cut with something that dont disolve in your nose so it makes u bleed a lot.. but anyway after the cocaine session u should feel pain in ur nose but if its not tolerable then its probably cut to glass.... anyway I get good cocaine here and after a session of lets say 1.5g I feel pain... sometimes I blow out blood but not in my mouth thats strange

I'm going to go ahead and close this, it seems to be getting off track as far as useful contributions go. Most of those posts have been unapproved.

If anyone has something pertinent to add, don't hesitate to PM me and I'll re-open it :)
