I just wanna know

I'm having ingrown toenail surgery for the 3rd time (both big toes)

Both times was severe pain, had to take vicodins from my mom, even had to break one in half with it
So I was basically taking 7.5/750 for 7-10 days

BECAUSE
1st procedure - no prescription
2nd procedure - Tylenol w/ Codeine andd Codeine just made me have shallow breathing, zero relief

What can I expect (this will be a new doctor doin the surgery btw)
For them to prescribe me if my mom vouches with me on the story so I don't look like a drug abuser

-I'm under 18
-This is for legit pain relief

I just had the same surgery and I didn't take any pain meds. The doc prescribed me tramadol but they just made my puke and gave me a headache to I chose to stay away from them. So I guess you could expect tramadol, but of course it depends on the doc. You probably won't get morphine but perhaps oxycodone which, I think, is slightly stronger than vicodin and obviously stronger than codeine.

Hydrocodone,Oxycodone,morphine,demerol,hydromorphone,oxymorphone,etc..almost all prescription pain meds are stonger than codeine, except for tramadol. You won't be getting any of the above few examples for in-grown toenail surgery, but hydrocodone, or maybe oxycodone(Percocet)..

I think they would prescribe you hydrocodone but that's about it. Try having bells palsy from lyme disease and then they only give you tylenol 3 because they believe you might become addicted....then they don't even give me tylenol 3 anymore even though I was up crying in pain and even I had to be shot up with morphine at the emergency room to feel any better.... lol sorry for the rant but yeah I think you can get some hydros as long as you're honest and explain why you need something stronger.

By the way I'm under eighteen and was sixteen at the time when I had to have pain pills. They didn't want to give me anything stronger than codeine because I was still a minor and a "risk". Even though I don't have anything on my record and I never was even prescribed opiates ect. Yeah I was using them at the time but was clean when I ended up with bells palsy... so I don't even see where they got their reasoning from besides me not being eighteen. Also my mother vouched for me and so did on call doctors but still no luck hopefully that doesn't happen to you though.

Almost every opiate is stronger than codeine with exception of the now banned propoxyphene. Stronger than Tramadol as well...in my opinion. The next opiate up the ladder would be hydrocodone which is probably the most that you are going to get for toenail surgery. In fact I think you'd be lucky to get hydros for just that. Don't expect anything more powerful, i.e oxycodone.
