what is nodding? why do opiate users nod? I like oxys... I snort them. I don't know if I'm nodding, cuz I don't know what it is... my guess is that you can't keep your eyes open, but you're awake. i sometimes start hearing voices (when im very high, like after doing an 80 at once).. its not scary.. but when I snap out of it they go away.. is this nodding?

please someone explain and tel me if you can nod from oxys (snorting)

Yes you can nod from Oxys.

Nodding is when you are eyes closed head bent appearing to be sleep BUT fully aware of your suroundings and hear all that is going on around you.

Hmm never heard voices that are not there that is something new to me.
Well with Opiates anyway I have heard voices from coke when i have done way too much

serious Nod

nodding is like losing yourself in your high, it usually ends up where you're slouched over, or almost like "aware" but passed out.

Nodding is good, it's what is most sought after in a opiate high.

so i think I have nodded... but I slouch backwards instead of forwards lol.. hurts my neck (doesn't hurt when I'm high, obviously haha)..sometimes I start dreaming when I nod... but this only happened once and I was SUPER high

^That sounds like a nod to me. The Chemist described the nod pretty well, just letting the 'smackness' roll over you...if that makes any sense.

Quick question for the more-experienced: I don't begin nodding until long after I've taken my dose of opiates; so, I'll blow maybe two or three bags of dope, for example, and I will feel great right away but won't begin nodding for maybe an hour or two... is that how nodding works, or what? I have always been under the impression that nodding occurs right away, but maybe this is more for IV users?

^I'm not an IV user, and my experiences are similar to yours, usually the first bit of the high (of any opiate, esp. the more sedating ones...) is the euphoria, and then comes the nod, which is euphoric in its own right

Depends on the dose for me. If I take a large dose, I'll nod right away. If it's really good heroin sometimes I won't even get to the clean up before I nod out for a few minutes. Then I snap out of it and sometimes wonder what's going on and have to reconstruct the past 10 mins to figure out if I even did the shot haha. (I always did the shot, its like a mini blackout). A nice relaxing nod comes on later as well.

But if I do a more moderate amount of opiates I won't start nodding for an hour or so and then I'll fade in and out for a few hours.

When I first start using opiates it was very much a dream like state but the dreaminess no longer comes around and its more like a very light and relaxing sleep.

Nod occurs from IV usually at the tail end of the rush, or mid-rush. like 1-5 minutes after the shot is taken.
What you're describing is typical of going the snorting route.

basically you are so sedated you can barely keep your eyes open, if at all...a warm blanket engulfs you as everything fades to black; nothing else in the world matters and you feel weightless...be careful trying to achieve a nod, it's easy to over do it to try to recapture that feeling and then you just black out...not funn

Dude, I don't nod until like 2 hours after I sniff the H. I take a small amount though, and wait for the nod. I am sure that if I did more, I would nod quicker. IV is out of the question.

Yeah, nodding is the best part of taking an opiate in my opinion. After that sudden burst of mania, you simply feel as if you haven't slept for weeks and no matter where you are, it feels like you're atop a SERTA pillow top mattress surrounded by plush mammoth comforters and loving hugs.

So if you've felt like that, you've had a nod

life is sad, i take 500 mg of methadone and cant nod, i dont think ill ever be able to again... i take 100 daily but every now and then ill take a large dose like that

Oh boy, the nod. The door into a small moment if pure euphoria, or rather a utopian dream world of sorts. The opiate is the only key that unlocks this door. There is no other way.

Opiates truly are "God's Own Medicine." Haha!

So yeah like everyone else is saying you have definitely experienced the nod. When I IV, I love the different stages of the high, going in and out of the nod. Like when it first hits me I get this clear headed euphoria/intense body rush. Then about 1 minute into it, the rush up my body reaches the back of my neck and culminates in an explosion of sedating euphoria in my head. My vision blurs out so that I'm completely detached from my surroundings. Then I start consciously dreaming completely strange situations. This last for about 5-10 minutes until I snap back into reality and am really nicely sedated with a buzz for about an hour completely out of pain.

At about 1-2 hours post injection I start to nod out again on and off for another hour or so. The timeframe of when you nod definitely has to do with the ROA. Insufflation does typically bring on a nod a few hours after ingesting it.

You are also not alone in the "hearing voices" kind of experience. I usually experience something like this, hearing voices/visualizing random dreamlike situations. But its not like hallucinating/"crazy" kind of hearing voices, its more just like dreaming sounds/interactions. I dunno, hard to explain but I get what you mean.

Ugh this got me really excited haha I took a shot about 2 hours ago, kind of having trouble focusing my eyes writing this.

my girlfriend calls it my 'sleepy face' (she doesn't know I'm nodding).

Lately I can only catch a nod on a high dose of pod tea and kratom. But I've actually nodded out a few time on mdma.

I haven't read all of this thread, so I can't be sure what's been said (about nod bread...? attempt at rhyme), but...

Oohhhhhhhhhhh nodding. It's a blissful state of drifting in and out of sleep, between a dream world and the real world, all with a positive glow, an orgasmic body buzz. Sometimes you'll drift in and out of sleep not knowing it, sitting in one place for 10 minutes, but you'll swear you were just talking with your buddy Scott about carburetors because you just vividly daydreamed it. Yet at the same time, it's a blur; both the real world and opiate-induced dream world. The whole experience of the nod is essentially that of being between wake and sleep, being nearly on the border between life and death. It's a fascinating and wonderful feeling, but can be extraordinarily addictive because of the amazing comfort and ability to drop out of the world that it provides. The experience is such that some waste 30, 40, even 50 years nodding out half the time or more. That's no way to live, it's a way to to die in the flesh. But a nod is something everyone should try once. It's almost psychedelic in a way, except without visuals and with extreme uncontrollable moaning, drooling, eyes rolling, passing in and out of sleep, and bodygasms. Hope that sums it up, I've almost got myself fiendin', and I'm kicking the habit.

EDIT: Though no amount of words can really sum up a nod, it does have a definite kind of dissociative element to it, in that it allows you to leave everything behind and drift off doing nothing but writing in pleasing and going in and out of sleep for several hours.
