I was wondering if lithuim is a good buzz. My friend said if u take 5 just by themsleves u get real happy and uppity...and if you drink on them theyre fun too. But i thought i read somewhere that theyre kinda dangerous and u should take them just to get high, does anyone know about this?
 
Lithium is a salt widely available in the natural environment. Lithium can be dangerous even in therapeutic doses, lowered thyroid functioning may result. This can cause a lack of energy, substantial weight gain and posioning. Lithium is beleved to work by limiting the availability of dopamine and norephinephrine, but also has important effects on some of the neurohormones in the endocrine system. Lithium has NO recreational value and is only suited for those with manic/dysthymic,etc. depression.
 
Lithium is bad.... turns you into a zombie. Just read the song lyrics. Why anyone would want to be like this for fun, I dont...
Lithium is an antipsychotic that is potentially dangerous.. Dont touch the stuff.
 
people on lithium carbonate should make sure that they don't restrict their sodium (regular table salt) intake, because Li & Na compete for position in cellular sodium pumps...

moderate amounts are found in seafoods, etc.

very low doses (under 100 mg per day) may have a mood stabilizing effect in "normals", but theraputic doses (several hundred mg) should only be taken by direction of your physician...

and no, it's not "recreational" --- many folks w/bipolar disorder take it & hate it (thus other mood stabilizers may be elected, such as depekote, etc...)

If it is an antipsychotic then could it be used to block the effects of a psychotic such as LSD or mushrooms if somebody was having a terrible trip?
 
LSD is not a 'psychotic' (although it might turn you into one) it's a psychedelic
as far as I'm aware lithium will have no effect on LSD
 
Haha think about it, Lithium makes people who hear voices and see shit act normal. So if you do act normal it will make you lifeless and boring, like a dull dead person.
 
OKAY. Lithium is a mood stabalizer, like for example Depakote. It is NOT an antipsychotic. Just because a drug is in a class of drugs like 'antipsychotic' or 'antidepressant' or 'mood stabalizer' does not mean it will fuck you up. If you get a buzz from either of these shitty chemicals then you are a mutant or are faking it. Plus I'm pretty sure it isn't good for you to take 5 of those at a time.. why would you even want to?
