What's Good on European and African TV v. Walking the Dead

Been watching Hannibal, seems pretty good so far

I loved Hannibal, it was my top series for a while. Being a big foodie fan and into the psychological pathological "weirdness" it was right up my street. Enjoy!

We're liking The Code, an Australian drama on BBC 4. Its a bit like Homelands but not quite, really good stuff - look it up. Still loving homelands (Carries has turned into a psycho bitch) and we'll be watching the last episode of Boardwalk Empire tonight.

Considering watching all of the Wire all over again over the winter to get into the "detail". It must be the all time greatest drama, gripping gritty socially relevant comment, even after all these years.

I think of the Wire often and on the oddest of occasions, its made such an impact on me. It's a truly life changing piece of art. I even want to visit Baltimore! Everyone should watch it - its mind warping!

It truly is. It's really in a league of its own....educational, entertaining, funny, believable, Human. There are no good people or bad people just different people in different circumstances. The game is what it is, ye feel me.

A major positive of The Wire is that the programme doesn't use music to manipulate our emotions e.g. there's no emotional music playing when someone dies or w/e. You need to use your own judgement. I could praise The Wire forever. My major problem was trying to adapt to watching other tv programs once I'd completed the set. Everything just seemed meh in comparison.

actually considering rewatching it after a 2 years off. it really was awesome. strangely though, not everyone seems to "get it" and struggle to watch it past a couple of episodes, and say it is somewhat boring. ill admit that it is slow paced at first but boring? no way
